  1. Chewables after one week! Glad you are doing well.
  2. SO excited for you Swift! Congratulations.
  3. I'm in! This is Wednesday and I did 30 minutes on my treadmill tonight so that's 3 points. I pledge to do a total of 6 more points before Saturday. I am so glad you started this Booklean, I have been working out but I skipped last night. Hopefully this thread will not only make me accountable but inspire me to workout longer!
  4. Finally heard back from my surgeon, he says no NSAIDS for life! He believes that they can cause an ulcer. I believe he is very conservative though because he also recommends no caffeine or alcohol, ever. I am only 8 weeks out today so I am going to wait for a few more months and see how I feel.
  5. Good luck, hope everything goes well for you!
  6. I TOTALLY get what you are saying! I was never full, now it happens SO quickly! You will love your sleeve. Good luck, I will be praying for you.
  7. I am 7 weeks out and I just started to feel this way yesterday, I hate it. Some things sound good, cheesecake, macaroni and cheese but nothing that I should be eating. So I have begun forcing myself and if I think about it too much I would gag. I was like Lee, eating just fine and hungry 2 hours later...
  8. I live in Columbus, Ohio and self paid. I had my surgery in Merriam, Kansas at a level one Center of Excellence for 11999.00. Couldn't be happier. Good luck.
  9. You should write a VSG guide Tif, seriously.
  10. So cool, you can't even see a staple. Looks nice and tight!
  11. I dread it, I lost quite a bit on Optifast once and I was only on it for about 3 maybe 4 months.
  12. Congratulations to both of you, you will love being sleeved!
  13. Hi Zephra, I am 5'3 and started at 255. I told my surgeon that I will consider my surgery a complete success if I hit 180 and stay there forever and I still stand by that. I will be 6 weeks out this Wednesday and I am at 215 this morning, I set my weight loss ticker for 160 not really thinking I would aim for it but now I think it is possible. I too am a self pay, I took some of the equity out of my house to pay for it. I think I got 7 % interest. Good luck, you will learn so much here.
  14. It includes pre-op, my surgeon only has a 2 day liquid before but I did 8 days. I experienced a one week stall at 2 1/2 weeks that made me want to freak out but I stayed calm because of everything I had read on here. My sister who has always been thin actually said "Won't you be so embarrassed if you don't lose weight?" I didn't even have the words to respond to that, well I could think of two words! I actually gained exactly 10 lbs while I was in the hospital for 30 hours. That diet gave me diarreah and they loaded me down with I'Vs because I was dehydrated, came out 10 lbs heavier. I am so, so glad I got sleeved, I can tell from your posts you are loving it too. You have done fabulously well!
  15. Ouch! Talk about a backhanded compliment, glad he meant well!
  16. Congratulations! I am so happy for you, maintaining for 6 months is quite an accomplishment.
  17. Welcome Lynette, I had surgery at 10:00 AM and was released the following day around 3:00. I thought I would be very nervous but I was amazingly calm! I really attribute that to being confident about my decision and the reason for my confidence was primarily due to the information I received on this site. I have zero advice for the pre-op diet as mine was only 2 days. I was off 2 1/2 weeks after my surgery due to vacation and spring break (school secretary) and although I could have gone back sooner I am glad that I had that much time off. I am sooo glad I am sleeved and I believe that your time spent on this site will definitely help you make the best decision for you. Congratulations and good luck!
  18. My surgeon sent me home with injections for blood clots, I had to give myself one every evening for 10 nights. Maybe you could ask yours about them. You are doing so well getting your liquids in! Congratulations and enjoy!
  19. Congratulations, I am green with envy!
  20. Thanks for the article Tiffy, I am so excited by it. I really feel my workouts will be much more effective if I can get back on some anti inflammatory medication. Almost 50 years of hauling around that extra weight can really take a toll on your joints! I will share what I hear from my surgeon, but I think I am just going to have to give it a shot.
  21. Congratulations BJean and Goodlife, so glad everything is going well! I am so excited for you both.
  22. Not on any antacid but very impressed with your weight loss! Congratulations!
  23. Hi Tiffy, Your super "geekiness" has helped all of us immensely! I just e-mailed my surgeon to get absolute clarification on his NSAID stance I will post when I hear from him. I think this is an issue that I am going to have to read up on and make a decision. I really hope to be able to take them, I have been walking 30 minutes a day on my treadmill but I would like to be able to go faster and NSAIDS would definitely help!
