  1. Oh, Suzanne..I definitely know it's a tool. I needed to be forced to set my life straight Healthwise :biggrin0: I agree, at least those 3 pounds will be ones that STAY off..KWIM? And I found out today why I haven't lost. AF has started...albeit 2 mos late!!! Sorry if that's TMI. I wish I had the energy to exercise more right now. I did ride my bike about 2 miles one evening and I walked about 2 miles another evening, but when I was done I felt like I might pass out. My poor DH, he said exactly what you said about my body being in shock with calorie difference...
  2. OMG Why didn't I think of that!?!?!? Thank you :thumbup1:
  3. So I don't have to wait 2 hrs before drinking the next 1/8 cup, right? At least I don't have to go back to work until August 13 (teacher here)
  4. So our stomachs should hold only 1/8 cup, right? Should I measure that out with my protein drinks?
  5. Ash, I've read to stay under 30 and that's doable for me I started AF today...hence the NO WEIGHT LOSS for the last few days!!! I better be done before I leave for PV. Ugh.....
  6. Ok..I really think that my diuretic has nothing to do with my stomach. I'll have to try and take my pill the night after I have surgery! That should be fun...
  7. G'mornin' everyone I've been taking a diuretic for probably a year. I'm going to take it up until the night before my surgery. I'm worried that if I don't take it the following night after my surgery I'll start to swell up like a whale. However, I'm wondering if I will need it. Will the surgery make my inclination to retain Water go away?
  8. Shoot..I was waiting for the miracle pill, but decided I'd waited long enough...
  9. I agree..OH (for me) is hard to navigate and keep up with what I've posted.
  10. Ohhh..ok. I was imagining all those times that acid reflux woke me up during my pregnancy with babies 3 and 4..LOL. It was HORRIBLE! Sounds like you could choke
  11. I want to subscribe to see if anyone gives you an answer :thumbup1: I don't think I'll even try to get much protein in the first week after surgery.
  12. These are the kinds of snippets that give me hope! Ugh..that must feel so AWESOME!
  13. I know..I'm totally bitching needlessly, right? I just can't help it! LOL I'm probably just too hungry for real food...:thumbup1:
  14. And there are NO clothes for people who are short and fat, right!?!?!? I will be there for 4 days and my surgery is the day after I get there ( to Puerto Vallarta) so I'm thinking I probably won't get to have much
  15. but anyway! I need to do it where people understand I've been a week (tomorrow)on this Clear liquids, low carb/low fat pre-op diet and I've only gone down 8 pounds (which are probably all water). Why haven't I lost more? Does this mean I won't lose after the surgery? Every day my calories are under 800 and my carbs never go over 30. Sorry to vent and it's probably lame..but I'm frustrated! I could never lose weight on ANY diet??? Not even liquids???:thumbup1:
  16. I had to start 2 weeks before surgery date. I started my liquid diet on June 26. By the 3rd day it wasn't so bad. I wasn't so drained anymore. I found that the kellogg special K kiwi strawberry protein drinks are delicious and very helpful!
  17. Yeah, I caught on quickly that it's mostly carbs I have to get rid of. Of course I researched 'liver shrinking'..blah blah blah... don't we all do that? Gotta love the internet.
  18. I'm thinking he wants me to get used to liquids for my post op? Some doctors don't have such a drastic diet. I was thinking the same thing! That's why I am going to allow myself the occasional piece of fish or chicken (grilled) until my surgery. I checked my ketones and I am releasing a LOT today. I guess I'm finally in full ketosis
  19. OMG Girl, you are KILLING me! I am going crazy craving this Amazon Sauce from a restaurant called Gringo's...ok now I'm drooling
  20. I'm going to use imagining my tiny tummy bursting to keep me from feeling that way. I know it's graphic, but that's the best thing I can think of to ward off those desires for real food. Imagining my liver being knicked and me hemorrhaging on the OR table keeps me from eating carbs during this PreOp diet..LOL
  21. Hey, neighbor! I live just south of Pearland on 288/SH6. I just say Houston area otherwise nobody knows where I'm talking about! LOL
  22. Well, he says I can drink grape juice, cranberry juice, and apple..but I don't. I keep everything low carb. I'm so scared! Carbs get stored in the liver as sugar..or something like that. I don't want to take any chances with high carb drinks.
  23. Thank you so much! :wink0: You all make me feel so welcome:)
  24. Thank you SO much! I'm really stoked to find this forum. I also belong to OH.
