  1. Yayyy!! You all are such cool chicks we thought we'd make you your own subforum! Anyway I'm creating the Sunday thread, as it seems there aren't any others. I wanted to do it so I could pin it up without having to come back should you all want to start logging your food on Sundays. TTFN!!
  2. No I'm sorry I don't... These have all been taken to Goodwill or given away.
  3. Great!! After awhile (at least in my case) I got used to the stalls, then drops. My weight will stall for a few weeks then I'll have a few weeks where I lose .5 - 2.5 Lbs per day. I take it all and hug um an' kiss um and call um my sweethearts.
  4. Chooo!!! Choooo!!! Keep it moving!! ____________________________________________ SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LilMissDiva.....221.8...............211.4.........199.8.........11.6
  5. Here is the new Subforum: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum/112-meals-specific-to-being-sleeved/ It can be found in the food & Nutrition Forum. I will clean up all the already created threads and merge them all together. They will be by weekday, Monday, Tuesday, etc... I will also pin them all to the top so they won't get lost in the shuffle should many others post in the subforum. Thanks!
  6. I really didn't know where else to put this, so I figured this could be classified in the "Fitness" section. I found a website that measures a great deal many things, more than just the classic BMI. It measures fat percent, Waist/Hip ratios, differences for men and women, and much much more. Here is how I measured up. My current BMI is 34.12 - which falls into the Obese 1 Category.. yay!! Ready to move into just the Overweight soon. My BMR measured at 1,710.89 - however since I've been on very low cals for at least 6 months now, this maybe true or I would guess it's less than that. My Body Fat% came out to 31.18. I was really shocked to see this!!!! It makes me fall under borderline NORMAL and obese!!! I knew I was thinner than my weight let on. My physical fitness really REALLY helps with this. Here's the best one: My Waist to Hip Ratio is 0.74 - this is absolutely without a doubt the most awesome result!!! For a Female, 0.8 or less is considered Low Risk!!! Yay me!!! LOL Anyway if you'd like to take a look at it, here's the website: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/ :D
  7. I returned to work after three weeks. I'm 37 years old. I do not have a physically demanding job like yours, so I'm not sure how much time you should take off. Whatever you do take it easy!!!
  8. Wow this seems to be a real hot button issue... I've had to just now merge 3 threads.
  9. I know I've already said this but CONGRATULATIONS MY FRIEND!!!! You have done so darned amazing, and I'm super happy for you. You are *very* close to goal and you've gotten this far so fast, you'll be making a new post saying you've reached it in no time at all! Big Hugs!!!! This one deserves the BIG BANANA!!!!! :bananahuge:
  10. Either that or Medi-Fast. You can lose that fast on a complete liquid diet too... though she never claimed that either. No one can lose on salads alone, that's just all Water...
  11. Hmmm... that's very interesting. I haven't seen anything like this posted before but I had a slightly similar issue immediately post op myself. I had a Crown on my tooth and a week after surgery it started having the worst pain ever!! I had to go to the dentist and have the endodontist do a root canal on it. He filled in the tooth where he drilled through and now I have a white spot on my crown... LOL My personal opinion is that I think I was slightly malnourished then due to the liquids only and somehow ended up killing my root in my tooth. I am no medical professional so I'm not absolutely positive this is true, it's my own speculation. I just found it interesting that it was only a week later when before I hadn't had *any* pain there at all. Good luck!!
  12. CONGRATS AMBER!!!!! That is super awesome!!!! I'm not too far myself, only a bit over 13 lbs to go. Considering I haven't been less than 200 lbs in 20 years I'd say I'm really looking forward to it, so I KNOW you're over the moon!! :cheer2:
  13. Wow great job S!!! ____________________________________________ SN..............Starting Wt........Current.......Goal.......Lbs to Goal LilMissDiva.....221.8...............213.2.........199.8.........13.4
  14. Hi Shanny, Wow what a very touching story. I'm so glad you were able to overcome your abusive past and are now working on improving the effects of it. That is really great. For me, yes I do have a *very* hard time coming to terms with the new me. When buying clothes I can't get over the fact that they are so small in comparison to where I started. I automatically don't believe it will fit, and when it does I almost feel a sense of shock. Looking in the mirror now is looking at someone else's reflection. Even looking at my pictures I can hardly imagine that is me in them. I guess it's going to take a lot of time to get used to the new us. I still have about 45 Lbs left to lose even so it's going to continue for a while more. Hugs lady!!! We are all in this together.
  15. Hi Wheetsin! No I don't think there is one thread that covers all the differences but there are numerous threads regarding the Band Vs Sleeve. I was revised from my band in September... and for me anyway my experience has been far greater than my band. IMO, the Sleeve is far superior. Good luck!
  16. Hi Amber I don't think you're too young, it more depends on your maturity level and your willingness to follow the post op program. Following the dietary and nutritional needs following surgery is of the utmost importance. It is *not* for losing weight, it is to protect your stomach and your newly cut staple line. I wish this surgery was around when I was much younger. I would have done it a long time ago. True it took me a over a year to make the decision to do it, but that was because I already had the Lap Band and I had to weigh my options on revision. If I knew about the sleeve while researching the band, you better believe I would've gotten the sleeve instead. Good luck on your decision!!!
  17. Hey goofyspice, welcome to VST!!! IMO it's always best to have someone be there with you. What's 10 more days? I know when you're excited and wanted it yesterday it can seem like an eternity but know it will come. Good luck to you whatever you choose!
  18. Well my mistake. I saw on NBC news that she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer a few months ago and just assumed that they were a credible news source.
  19. Oh wow, I have no idea... she does have cancer too so it could be from that. I didn't even know she'd lost some weight and by the looks, she's lost a LOT!!! I do probably more side with a surgery of some sort.
  20. Hey BBJ, you look amazing!!!!!!!! Great job girlie, and you are so lucky you never even looked like you had extra weight. Your skin really snapped back exact. Also, I want to say that, that would be fantastic to sign up for some competitions. Keep us in the loop! I for one would like to hear all about it. I love stuff like that - physical fitness is where its at!!! RE: The guy... I always believe in Kharma. Sooner or later he will repay his debt in his insensitive remarks about that lady.
  21. LOL!! Yeah that's going to happen, your family I suppose needs to eat even though you aren't able to right now. I would suggest running up to your room and burying yourself in a book or a good TV show. I have to tell you, watching TV shows that showcase Super or Morbidly Obese folks and Weight Loss really keeps me focused on the task at hand, and that is getting to goal!! Hang in there, and by all means excuse yourself for I know the smell is really good. Someone at my office was eating fried potatoes of some sort this morning, likely hash browns... I about nearly fainted it smelled so delicious...
  22. Hi Crosswind! I personally have not once seen a negative feedback on Dr. Aceves. I didn't see the post on the mystery man who claimed he nearly died. I won't say if it is true or not. I'm no one to judge, but I would like you to keep in mind that there is a lot of responsibility on the patient just as much as the surgeon. You have to wonder why he is such an anomaly that he nearly died. Did he follow the post op plan as directed? Did he maybe eat something he shouldn't have and too early out? Was he getting all of his fluids and supplements? Who knows... We have to remember that no one is perfect. It stands to reason that even Dr. Aceves could have a few complications here and there, I just personally have never seen any. Doesn't mean they aren't there. I certainly didn't have any complications out of norm. I did have nausea in the hospital and I also needed a catheter at one point. I also had a hard time swallowing from the pain, which as it was explained to me was, since I was a revision from the Lap Band it was pretty common. I absolutely and highly recommend Dr. A. His compassion, bedside manner and his technique saved my life. I'm going for a post op next weekend and I will be very happy to see him and his team!!!
