  1. I live in Indiana. Banded 9/17 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
  2. I am 10 days postop and as of this morning down 18.2lbs! Pretty excited about that! Can't wait to graduate to full liquids/soft foods next week!
  3. Ok how do you know something is stuck? I'm 9 days post-op and still on liquids but I'm curious. I hear it's painful, what are you supposed to do?
  4. Thank you! That is great info! I love this forum, everyone is great!
  5. My doctor wants me on the thin liquids the first 2 weeks then blended diet for 2 weeks and at week 5 I can start soft regular foods. I'll make it! I've been doing protein shakes made with almond milk and the occasional carnation instant breakfast but afterwards I feel full for hours! I'm trying and really am happy about my decision to have the band but feel like I'm in a zombie state most of the time. I am soo ready to be me again cuz I am pretty great!
  6. I am so glad to hear you are feeling 100%! I wish I could say the same. I was banded the same day as you and am still on a thin liquid diet. I'm having a hard time feeling "human" on 400-600 calories a day. To add insult to injury I'm on antibiotics for an abscess (not related to surgery) and feel super queasy all the time! Your post gave me hope though! Thanks for the boost!
  7. So I have a question for you veterans. I had tomato soup today (not technically on my acceptable foods list but it says "anything you could get through a straw" so I gave it a shot). That was at 1:30 this afternoon. I have felt full ever since then and I only ate about 2 ounces. The thought of drinking more makes me feel ill but I've only consumed around 500 calories today. Am I really going to survive this? Is that normal? My stomach is growling but I literally want nothing, almost feel sick from the soup. Help!!!
  8. The first few days I wasn't hungry at all. Now I think it's more of a mental thing. I really am tired of broth though. My protein shakes are getting me through. I am glad I found this forum, I appreciate everyone's responses!
  9. Ok I'm a week out and can honestly say I would punch a baby for a ham and cheese sandwich right now! Does this get any easier or should I just suck it up? I have another week of thin liquids then 2 weeks of puréed liquids before I get solid food! Good news is I've lost 16lbs since surgery day (9/17) so I can't complain about that!!!
