  1. I know there are questions I will forget to ask or maybe not even know to ask. Can you tell me what you feel you wish you would have asked or what your most important questions were at your consult? I am starting a journal not only to document my journey but also to bring with so I won't forget anything at the consult. Thanks for being so nice!
  2. I most definitely prefer to be closer to home! For my husband alone it would work so much better as he works 10 minutes from the hospital and wouldn't have to take an entire day off. Thanks for all your replies.
  3. Wondering which you chose, if you had a choice, and why? I have the choice and would prefer the out patient facility because they are solely there for what I need however it's not convenient at all. Is it better to go where I will be released in 5 hours or where they may keep me over night? I'm not sure what the surgeon who is close and works out of the hospital requires until I go next week for my consult. Also, realistically, how often will I need to get fills or see the surgeon? I have four children so being close to home is very important, especially if I have to be there weekly. I know it's ultimately my comfort level with the doctor and staff.
  4. Thank you all for your replies. I know this is about changing my lifestyle but the thought of not having even a bite of bday for my kids or a little pasta for the rest of my life scared me. What is it they do to figure out if you need the pre op diet?
  5. Hi! I'm considering lapband, consult is in 2 weeks. I would like to know a few things. How many weeks were you on pre surgery diet? What were you able to have? Then what are you no longer able to eat after the band is placed? How strict is the new eating plan for the rest of my life? Thanks for any help you can give me. Cc
