  2. Hi Lori, I'm hoping my date is right around there! Trying like crazy to start modifying the way I eat now but it's been difficult. (Gotta get the kids snacks out of the house lol). Where to you live? I'm in South Florida. Hopefully we can be band buds for support! How are you doing getting ready for your big day? How long are you taking off of work?

  11. Curious as to some different protein bars people are eating and enjoying (along with still seeing the lbs drop on scale).
  12. Hi Denise, I'm a newbie too. This forum has been super helpful on my journey at deciding on the band. I'm going to my 2nd support group tomorrow and already had 2 apts with my nutritionists, have pcp dr apt and bloodwork scheduled along with psych (my ins had 3 month wait) so I'm looking at possible dec surgery). I too wasn't 100% as to band or sleeve but being a mom of 3 kids I'm choosing the least invasive and also least down time. Overall I think all wls's have there plus and minus' we just have to do as much research as you need to feel confident with your decision. I know slot of very successful Bandsters. Stay in touch and let me know how your process is going! :-)
  13. Lol okay thanks everyone! Your answers make me feel good. I have a phenomenal surgeon (Dr Brett Cohen) in Hollywood Florida. I've met patients that say he has a 'healing hand'. Getting more excited everyday. Thankful to have friends in this online community who can give me their thoughts and opinions in record time. :-)
  14. Okay so I'm hoping to get insurance approval to be banded in early December and I literally had a dream last night that I was banded and was waiting to feel the sensation of 'tight' or 'restriction ' that so many Bandsters talk about. After surgery will my actual stomach feel any different? Or will it just be after my 1st fill and when I'm eating. I know this question may sound silly but I am getting excited and eager to really see/feel how my life will be different.

  16. Hi Vince, I too am looking at a surgery date of 1st week in December if all goes planned with insurance. I went back and forth since I know (As a busy mom of 3) that this is a crazy time of the year with alot of trigger foods. My motto is however, there is NO time like the present. If its not the holidays, it's Valentines, Halloween etc. candy snd sweets are always around. I can no longer make excuses...it's time for me to get off this roller coaster weight gain/loss journey. I'm done...and ready for the new me to be revealed!!! If you end up being banded in December would love to create a support team of 'Team Holiday' Bandsters!!! We can do this!!!!!

  22. Thank you for sharing readysetgo! I am 38 as well and am getting SO excited about being banded 1st week in December! I know the beginning will take some time to adjust but after I know it will be amazing to finally reveal the thinner healthier me that I know has been inside me ALL along. I weigh 246 lbs and would love to be back in onederland! it's always been a struggle staying there... But from all the posts I really think the band will be the long term tool I need to get there and most importantly stay there! Can't imagine how great it will feel to weigh 175 (or less hehe) I know my joints and knees and feet and back oh yeahhh and my heart..will thank me!!! Keep on keeping on!!
  23. Wow thanks for sharing B52! You are a huge inspiration! I'm going to be banded in early December..and I know I will remember your mantra on rough days. I used to workout ALL the time when I weighed less so I can't wait to be back there. I'm going to start now I think ..even if its just walking 2 or 3 miles a few times a week.
  24. Woww! You are a new woman...this doesn't even look like the same person!! Absolutely remarkable!! You are quite an inspiration! Congratulations on your amazing accomplishment!! Your daughter must be SO proud of you. Thank you for sharing!!
  25. Would love to see some before and after photos if anyone would care to share. My journey is just beginning so I find it very inspiring!!
