  1. Woop woop ! ...Having to get of a ride when my children was with me = most embarrassing thing ever :-( .... It was the final nail in the coffin that drove me to pay privately to have the band done.... Yes I know the health implications and they are far more important although I had been blessed to date to having no issues ( high blood pressure ect) . . But I had a thought the other day...what if I can't go on the rides now regardless lol...but thank you for answering my question :-)..... I do have another though ..I am still on liquid diet and constantly feel tiered and lethargic all the time.... I'm assume this is down to lack of food ? ... I am due to start mushy food from Monday...but the thought of food doesn't appeal and I can't imagine being able to eat when it takes me half hour just to be able to drink half a tin of Soup, how on earth will I be able to eat ?
  2. A daft question please, once I done will full healing.....will I still be able to go on extream rides ? Thanks :-)
  3. .....Damn I'm hungry now I have thought about it .....
  4. I'm still on liquid diet for another 3 days :-( ....but I am so looking forward to scrambled egg and beans for my mushy food....and I don't even like scrambled egg ! D'oh .....oh and mash potatoes and broccoli
  5. We all have them hun x its good to share x hugs x
  6. I had simular issue couple days back :-( and the pain was unbearable....went hospital and they put me on drip for dehydration, morphine for the pain and anti sickness med's, I luckily felt better after couple of hours (although it may of been down to the morphine lol)...they kept me in for 24 hours on the drip and run test to make sure my band ect was all right and in the correct place :-). Since the rehydration I have felt 100% better and now keep forcing the fluids. Keep us posted and remember it does get easier x hugs x
  7. ...take your pain killers, this is were the port will be :-(
  8. Thanks for your comments...so up to a month :-) ..although the thought of the port flipping maybe 5 weeks lol ... Will let my hubby know how long before full activities to be resumed pmsl.
  9. Hi all, I am a front sleeper and had my band fitted a week ago now. I still have a little swelling over my port site and the 'pulling' sensation when sitting up - lying down. I have been struggling to sleep on my back - side, I turned onto my tummy the other night and woke with a yelp from me due to the pain :-( ... How long roughly will the pain - swelling stay with me for and will I be able to sleep on my front again ?
  10. Haha, for fear of upsetting the non smokers, yes you are correct...the healthy solution will be to quit....so I have to agree with them all....but if like me, we deal with the fact that we do smoke, and your asking for advice for the same, maybe try the ginger option for helping with your symptoms :-)...after all if it doesn't work....the giving up smoking would be the other option. Let me know how ya go hun.
  11. Hi, great you'll be joining up too :-)...had mine done only 5 day's ago. Biggest bit of advice from me, have medicine to hand for the gas ( not everyone gets this, I didn't) and to help you burp ( I did get this lol) ..let us know how you go :-)... Remember to rest - like I didn't haha
  12. Hi....I smoke too, I too faced this as your blood sugars are low....same as if pregnant lol....as we can't have ginger biscuits.... I had a small bit of fresh ginger to suck on instead....but of course only if you like ginger lol.
  13. Hi, what a disappointment for you :-( .I didn't follow any particular pre op diet except milk and yoghurt. But my life saver for this period was oxo cubes ....chicken , veg and beef. They broke up from the monotony of dairy products and when I smelt other people food they tasted enough like soup that I didn't mind them :-)....tomorrow is another day its now about getting back up and getting your head into that place again to prepare ! I was banded only 5 days ago, I have had several problems ....but the 2 stone so far lost doesn't make me regret it x
