Any other September 2013 bandsters?
2nd day out from surgery and the numbness in my torso is more gone now but still doing ok. The cut in my belly button is still bleeding a bit and the steri strip is gross. luckily i have 2 sisters that are nurses and one is going to come over today and clean and redress it. My biggest problem on the clear liquids is not getting enough protein and drinking enough water...still working on that. Tomorrow I can start having yogurt and cottage cheese and my protein shakes...never thought I'd be happy about that - but it's more solid food than today so yay me! I will take it!

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
My boyfriend just asked me how I'm doing, If I'm worried or nervous...and the strange thing is - NO, I'm not! Isn't that weird? I'm so ready for this! I meet with my surgeon tonight and then surgery tomorrow morning. On all clear liquids, can you drain the stuff from progresso light soups and just drink the broth? does anyone know?

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
My class was great! very informative but not much we don't already know. hold a pillow to your stomach if you need to laugh, cough or sneeze - it will help. Walk, Walk, Walk!! She walked us through every step of what will happen tomorrow from arrival thru discharge. There are 7 people having surgery tomorrow total. My surgery is scheduled for 830am tomorrow, I have no pre-op diet so today's clear liquid diet (broth, sugar-free jellow, flavored waters, light, deluded fruit juices, decaf coffee\tea, and sugar-free popcycles) blows. I will be on these clear liquids through Sunday. Monday starts Stage 2 liquid proteins, cream of wheat, applesauce, sugar-free pudding, greek yogurt (baby food consistency). for 2 weeks. Then on to stage 3 (more on that later...)

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
Well just came from my 4 hr class to prepare me for the next few weeks. Met with the dietitian and Barbie (our Office Coordinator). She is very knowledgeable and a good presenter. I learned a lot and I'm now ready for my surgery on Friday at 8:30am! I have to be there by 730. So by this time Friday I will be banded and hopefully almost ready to go home...

I'm with dmh102 - I've got my toes crossed for you too! My surgery is scheduled for Friday...starting to get a little jittery but not much. I know this is the right decision to get me healthier than I am now.

Scared and excited
1 scoop of the unflavored is 45 cal, 1 scoop of the vanilla is 63 cal. so my 2 scoops of unflavored with 1/2 scoop van has 121.5 cal and 23.5 g. protein but they taste good and they are very healthy. Also, because i'm an employee, I get a discount...

check out the website...it will show you the nutrition facts \ supplement facts for each product if you're interested....

the unflavored has 0 sugar and 10g protein per scoop - it's a powder. the vanilla that i like has 5g sugar and 7 grams of protein so I use 2 scoops of the unflavored and 1/2 scoop of the vanilla. They taste great! I hope when i get to mushies and can add 1/2 banana or some peaches to change up the variety. blend it in a personal blender... i drink them now with fruit (16 oz) as part of my pre-diet and really do like them.

Lap Band vs. Realize Band
I've read a lot that there are two different band types (i.e. lap band vs. realize band). I understand some of the differences and that it is mostly surgeon preference but anyone want to give your views and the differences and why you chose one over the other?

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
You guys are really inspiring! I'm getting a little nervous for the 1st time. I have my 4-hr pre-class and checkin stuff tomorrow, meet with the surgeon Thursday, then surgery on Friday. It's starting to become real. Woke up with a headache for the 1st time in a very long time, must be nerves and lack of caffeine...lol I have to keep reminding myself now to keep my eye on the prize. But seeing everyone else go through it in this group before me makes it somewhat easier! Congrats to all of you!!

WOW! well I'm glad you are a success story. Sounds like you worked hard for it

Average Fills to Green Zone????
That seems to be my doctor's plan. Nothing at 1st...1st appointment for fill in 6 weeks after surgery. I hope I am as lucky as you. I can handle that I think I could even handle going in once a year if needed to stay in green...
