Well I saw the Cardiologist Wednesday. He said all looks well,And he cleared me for surgery on the 6th.. but he wants to do a resting Echo of my heart.. and depending how that looks he may pull my clearance. My test is tomorrow, and I will know something by Monday they said. Friday the 30th, I am to start my Pre-op diet. (crosses fingers).... I am so ready to begin my journey and get going with it. Its been a long time coming. \

I am suppose to have surgery the 6th of September, and the only people I have told or know are my husband, a friend who had lapband surgery, my BFF, and another friend. I will not tell my mother, she is the most negative person in the world. She always has to be better then me,compares my sister and me and tells me I'm not as good as my sister at anything I have tried or have done. I'm fearful that she will just be so negative when I'm banded ..ie. your not loseing enough, or you still look fat, or why arnt you working harder..that until I'm well on my way I not say a thing, nor will I tell my sister..she will just tell my mother. I'm relieved they live in Georgia, and I'm in Illinois,I don't see them but a few times a year.. so I guess it will just be a surprise

I am a September bander , and Barring any issues with the cardiologist Wednesday the 21 my surgery is penciled in for September 6th. I have my pre op appointment the 30th, and this that is when I would start my pre op diet. I'm so excited, I also was approved thru insurance, which makes me even happier.

Hello. As the title says I am beginning my lap band journey. I made and went to my consultation appointment last week. I am 41yo, married for 19yrs. Mother of 3, (15yo girl and a 10 & 5yo boys). And today I got a call today to start my pre-O P orders.. I have to get the typical blood work, Need an E K G , then have have a cardiologist clear me. Psychological evaluation, and a Upper G I ....(oh yay!!) Current pap and mamo ..(not sure why they need this). So I decided to post a hello instead of being a creeper. I am nervous and excited. January 1st I was at my heaviest weight of 350lbs.and decided to do something about it. Currently I am 333, and trying. I have scheduled most of my tests for Thursday and Friday, next week need to do some others. I was told, my insurance Co.covers cost up to 90% but since I met my out of pocket deductible,it's 100%… I'm hoping for no surprise $$. Hmmmm...think that's it... If I forgot something ask me.. -Deb
