popcorn?
Im still preop but my surgeon's office said no regular popcorn after the band due to the kernels possibly accumulating above the pouch (like the little flaky kernel stuff inside each piece). This was sad for me because I love love love popcorn!

Did you have excess skin at all? That's a worry of mine...although I would take skin over fat any day!- Bmi 35
Looking to connect or hear stories of people's success with lapband with a bmi of around 35. I cuurently have a 35 bmi and am just curious how long it typically took people to reach a goal of a normal bmi. Thanks!- Newbie for posting..lurker for awhile :)
Thanks for the welcomes and warm wishes everyone!- Grand Rapids Area - Dr Jaret Beane
How was your experience with Dr.Beane? I know this is an old post so not sure if you are still active but I would love to chat. I am pre-band and am looking for banders in the area.- Any West Michigan Bandsters out there (Grand Rapids)
I am seeing Dr.Beane. He was recommended to me by my PCP. How was your experience with him? I am currently not banded but hopefully will be by October- Newbie for posting..lurker for awhile :)
Hey everyone! Just thought I would introduce myself. First, I would like to say thank you to everyone who is active daily on this site because you all give such great advice and are an inspiration! I attended the seminar in early April after my PCP brought up lapband around 1 year prior. Since then I decided that this is the best choice for me to take charge of my health. For knowledge and insight I have been reading the forums on here daily. I am (almost) 25 years old and in the process of doing my insurance required weigh-ins at my surgeon's office. I currently weigh 205 and am about 5'3.5. So I am considered a "low bmi" bander. I cannot lose weight during this 6 month required weigh-in phase so that is a little annoying...well I could lose weight but insurance would not cover the cost So for now I have been doing lifestyle changes to get me ready for surgery. I struggle with P.C.O.S. and that was a determining factor for me wanting to lose the weight and begin a new life (I cant wait to have babies!). My surgeon's office is thinking I will have surgery late Sept early Oct depending on how fast insurance approval happens and what not. I am excited to get this journey going and become a more healthy me! Anyways, enough with my long rant, thanks for reading! - Bmi 35
