  1. I had surgery a week ago today. Hard to believe. The first days were rough, I won't lie. I basically wanted to enjoy my pain meds and be left alone with my heating pad. I encourge you to keep shopping for the right protein shake. I use ISAGENIX whey protein shakes and I love them. SO smooth and yummy. Stay strong - this phase will pass. I just remind myself that the body needs time to heal and you need to listen to your body.
  2. I am using ISAGENIX whey protein shakes french vanilla and I love them. Great with fruit but that will be in a few weeks.
  3. Well dome! I hope to join you soon!!
  4. Was banded yesterday and am a bit sore today. Sipping, heating pads and meds are my best friends. Supposed to be at work on Monday but now I am not so sure. I did have a medium sized hernia repaired so that may account for my pain. Feeling okay -- no regrets.
  5. I have been on the pre op diet since the end of July and believe me it was not always easy as I was on vacation at my sister's. I have chosen not to tell anyone but my spouse. I am embarrassed and carry a lot of shame for being this heavy. During the pre op diet, I lost 6 pounds and have been second guessing myself as it is a lot of money. I have an accountability partner who is on this board and she and I are both being banded tomorrow but in separate cities and countries. I knew this would be a tough road. I began by buying a cheap journal and started writing a list of what I want as I lose weight. For example- 1. I want to fit in a little black dress, 2. I want to wear a two piece bathing suit and look good. 3. I want people not to stare at my boobs. 4. i want to ride my horse and not feel like i am breaking her back. Etc, etc. that is a book that stays on me and reminds me why I am doing this. Before I started the pre op phase, I did my measurements. That was an incredibly depressing day. I have lived in denial and blamed my expansion on aging. Numbers do not lie. I have also had my husband take a front and back pic. I have always hidden from pics. These pictures will remind me and have cemented my decision that this is the right step for me. I have surgery on Friday at 1030 and have to drive 5 hours back home. I am certainly concerned about not being able to go to work on Monday hoping for a really quick turn around. I have a semi desk job so I am hoping for the best.
  6. I am to have surgery on August 9th. I am wondering if I should plan to stay in the Toronto area overnight and head home the next morning. I haven't been told yet from them but am wondering if anyone here has used their clinic.
  7. I have lupus and my surgery is bookedn I am in what I call semi remission but am hoping this life change will help me get more mobile.
  8. I take a fair amount of vitamins every morning and am wondering if I am going to be able to eat them the first couple of weeks. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  9. That should say dreamed of doing this. Don't you love spell check
  10. Mine is the 9th and it does seem unreal. I have only dreamed of doing this and I am so ready!
  11. Sound like gall bladder or ulcer. Get it checked, hon
  12. Just remember why we r doing this. We are fed up feeling the way we do. I am one week behind you on the 9th.
  13. I am August 9th and start my preop diet tomorrow while on holidays. Not my smartest move.
  14. I have been lurking for a week or so but needed a community to be accountable to. I start my prenup diet on the 29th. My surgery is set for August 9 th. I have just turned 50 and have decided its my time to get healthy. Have two grown kids and live on a 46 acre horse farm. Nervous but excited about a new start.
