One Year Today (Dec 19th)
Happy Bandiversary!! I'm 6 months in and am feeling better already. I still have a ways to go but I feel like this is the best thing I have ever done. It's stories like yours that keep me pushing on. I'm so happy for you!!

2nd fill--not fun!
I had that on my first fill with the surgeon and had to do it under flouro. The NP did my second fill with no problem. She went a lot slower than the surgeon. I go tomorrow for my third fill. I hope that one goes ok.

Lap Band Fill And Discomfort
I have had 2 fills, the first was 2.5 cc, and my second 1cc, I didn't have any "pain", just a slight discomfort after my first one and queasiness both times. The second fill I was less queasy though, only a few hours.

Experience Since 4Th Fill...not Good
I agree with the last 2 comments, throwing up is not good. You need to call you surgeon and even though you may not want it you may have to get a slight unfill. Better an unfill than causing damage.

9 months and 14 pounds lost
My loss seems a little slow to me as well, but I'm still trying to figure out how to eat with my band and also increasing my exercise. Personally I think slower is better because then maybe you will be able to keep it off. Hang in there! I keep telling myself this is a marathon not a sprint. I would love to step on the scale and see my weight down 50lbs, but I also want to do it in a healthy way.

Pills??
Ok, great. no more pill crushing for me then. it is very disgusting!! Thanks all for your input.
-
Pills??
Ok, good to know. I might try to small ones and just keep crushing my calcium. That one is pretty big. Thanks!!

Lapband for my brain!
I can totally relate, but think about this, you had one slice not 4. That's a victory in my book. Maybe it wasn't the best choice BUT you were not able to eat as much as you used to. This is a process and I am also learning to adjust my eating as well. As I have heard other people say, this is a marathon, not a sprint., It's a total life change and it will take time to learn how to do things properly. The beauty of it is, we can always start over tomorrow. Don't let it get you down.

I have pooped, but not a good one!
I take the fiber route. I have always had irregular bowels because I have thyroid disease. I couldn't take laxatives pre surgery because they are too harsh on my stomach. I don't go every day but when i do it's a productive one. I use colon cleanse from walmart. It's not what the name implies, it's a fiber supplement that will help keep you regular.

My 3 month Update
Great job!!! Huge difference in your pictures!! You look wonderful!!

first fill and 3 weeks post op
It's not that bad. Your anxiety is usually worse than the fill itself. You will be fine!!

Pills??
Does anyway take pills whole or do you crush everything? I have been crushing my pills since surgery, but after my fill yesterday the NP said not to swallow any pills until I'm sure that food is passing through my band. The only thing I take whole are capsules or gel caps I crush everything else. I didn't think we could take pills anymore?? I'm afraid too. Won;t they get stuck??

First fill question
I wan't tired after my first fill, just queasy. I was better after I had some soup, it wasn't enough to stop my normal activites though,

2nd fille done today
It took me about a week to feel any restriction after my first fill. It's good that you called your dr, but you might need to give it a little time. My dr makes me wait at least 4 weeks between fills to allow time for healing. I hope you get good restriction soon.

2nd fille done today
The dr missed my port on my first fill too and it is very painful. I ended up needing flouro for that one, but this time the NP was much gentler than the dr and she found the right spot pretty quickly.

Solid Food!!!!
Good for you! Just make sure you are chewing really well. I remember my first taste of solids, food never tasted so good!

First fill?
I have needle anxiety too, and it really is not that bad. The only thing you feel is when they stick you to numb you, I just don't look! LOL!! I just had my second fill this morning, and my anxiety about the fill has been worse than the fill itself.

2nd fille done today
I'm glad to say it was much easier than the first one. The NP found my port pretty easily and gave me 1cc. So now I have 3.5cc's in a 10cc band. I'm feeling good, just a little queasy but not as bad as after my first fill. Hopefully this will get me closer to the green zone.

Go for your checkups every month in year 1
I would say you need to call. I was waiting for the dr's office to call me and they never did. I won't let that happen again.

Go for your checkups every month in year 1
This helped me greatly. I had my first fill on 8/29 and was not told when to schedule another appt. I spoke to the nurse today and she told me I needed to get in ASAP. I have an appt on tuesday and hopefully will get another fill as well. I can definitely feel my appetite increasing. I wasn't sure when I needed another fill, but I think it's time.

Slim fast is not allowed on my pre-op - what else taste decent
My doc said boost and carnation instant breakfast was ok.

To fill or not to fill?
That's a great question. I was banded 7/15 and I have only had 1 fill on 8/30 and I'm not sure if I need another or not either. How do you know???

do vitamins really help?
I agree with the comments above also. I have noticed that if I miss my supplements I feel tired so I do get them all in.
