Thanks for sharing. I can only hope that I am able to post so clearing and despite your "bumps in the road" you are still positive. I am awaiting a date, in he mean time I am doing what NUT tells me to do, exercise started with PT and Psych has totally cleared me til post op. Next visit July 11th....Looking forward to learning more, from my "team" and each of you. Reading a lot too. Any recommendations will be great. Already De-caffeinaed, de-carbonated and de=alcoholed....Not missing any too/
  7. HI, I am siting here envious that you have a surgery date and I don't. I can't wait to get to that 2 week pre op liquid diet because I will then know that all the homework, classes, testing a new life is awaiting me. All I can say, hang in here, be strong and know that it will all pay off in the end. jayne

  9. I am new also, don't have surgery date as yet. So happy for you, especially having your mom with you. Look forward chatting soon.
  10. I haven't had he surgery yet, but do you read? enjoy movies? walking the mall? just some simple thoughts. ? How did you drop that weight numbers already?
  11. I am new to the journey. I have had meetings with nutrionist, physical therapy, nurse pract. and LCSW. My labs are all done, ekg and chest xray normal. I have a vit D that is too low for them and my iron is low too. I have started on a D3 high dose and just learned that my Iron is low so I stopped and got some chewable vits with iron in them. Tell me more about the Pre surgery diets? what is involved? what should I expect? How long of time is involved. I have given up carbonated bev, alcohol and most caffeine, I am 6 weeks out on those. thanks. jane
  12. Morbid Obesity is definatly a medical condition. If you don't have heart disease, high cholesteral or osteo arthritus and sleep apnea......you soon will and any insurance company that denies you now are stupid and I would definaletly appeal. Your BMI is high enough that you should have no problem. Be blessed that you have no co-morbity issues. Good luck/
  13. I suggest you seek a Mental Health counselor and start looking for the reason for your depression. You may need some thing to get you motivated.....
