hi, i am 66 and was banded on 6/4. I have lost 30lbs, have had 2 fills but not feeling restriction yet. I am struggling right now to diet until i get another fill

hi newlife, i had to do 6 mos also. I have UHC in NY. my sugeon was ablt to get by with 5 mos documentation. Isnt it sad that we have fail on another diet for 6 mos? If we could diet and keep it off we wouldnt need the surgery I am 10 days post-op and finally feeling better. I believe younger people do better post-operatively, but here I am. Down 14 lbs already. Dont have any appwetite and making sure I get my 80-90 grams of Protein every day.

i guess he is old fashioned, he also keeps you in ICU for 48 hrs post-op, which was good for me because i developed an arrythmia.

i was banded on 6/4 also. i am not concerned about BMs. maybe i should be, but i wonder how you can expect to have a BM after the pre-op bowel prep and 10 days of liquids. Not much in there

hi, i am old enough to be your grandma!!!. I was just banded on 6/4 I was fat my whole life, karen the cow was my nickname in high school. i only wish this had been available for me years ago. dont be frightened, you are young and healthy and will sail thru this surgery.my very best to you

i am a week postop today.the gas had been awful. nothing reallt helps except tincture of time. warm tea and broth help a little,

let them fall off by themselves, that is what i was told

a hiatal hernia is in your diaphram, which separates your chest from your stomach. when you have a large hiatal hernia, your stomach slides thru the hole into your chest.. depending on the size of the hernia, sometimes it stays in the chest nd needs to be repaired

dont despair, i was banded on 6/4 at 240lbs. came home from the hospital at 253. I was horrified, keep drinking, some people retain fluid, and the gas and edema can cause weight gain. thurs 6/6/ at md ofice 246, today on my scale at home 235. make sure you drink enough to keep your urine almost clear. Is there salt in the broth? That can retain fluid too. PM me anytine

hi i was banded on 6/4, also very frightened pre-op and i am a pacu nurse:). I wanted to rip out my IV and go home before they took me to the OR. I had a large hiatal hernia that needed repair also. I am also 66, much older than you. But, our weight is going to kill us if we dont do womething about it. The surgical staff will take good care of you, you are their only priority when you are in the OR. They will also, not do the procedure if they think it is unsafe for you. Courage girlfriend, you can do this

hi, i am so anxious. i will be banded on 6/4. saw surgeon yesterday and he was annoyed that i didnt lose weight before surgery. i just dont have another diet left in me. i started low carb today. he said my liver is enlarged and fatty. I am also 66 years old , i need some support please
