  1. I've never had a fear of being put to sleep. I think I'm more nervous for the band amd the lifestyle changes. I'm so ready yet nervous about the unknown. Everyone has such different recoveries, some have band complications and others do awesome. So much unknown stuff out there. Excited yet apprehensive. Sent from my SPH-L710 using LapBandTalk
  2. Me too! I'm the 24th. Starting to get scared. Sent from my SPH-L710 using LapBandTalk
  3. Can you ask for a different Patient Advocate? The Dallas office has 2. Sent from my SPH-L710 using LapBandTalk
  4. Congratulations! Sent from my SPH-L710 using LapBandTalk
  5. I had my EGD today too. No sore throat yet. Finger crossed it stays away over night. EGD was not bad at all. Surgery the 24th. So excited, yet very nervous!
  6. Have you tried the whey powder and blending frozen fruit in? More smoothie like and I can keep down. The liquid (pre-made) would not stay down for me. I also add in a packet of Truvia in the blender. It's almost good.
  7. I use the bleander too. Throw in a few frozen strawberries and a packet of Truvia sweetner and they are actually pretty good. I'm doing the GNC whey in vanilla (powder). I think we may have a lot in common. I'm 5'2 33 and a single mom. Mine are older though. (12 & 13) I wish I could have done this when they were younger. We can all get through this together. I'm definitely looking for a support network.
  8. It'll be here before you know it. It was super easy. No pain afterwards. Worst part was the meds in the IV burnt as it went in, but I was asleep so soon that it wasn't that bad.
  9. It is tiny but its there! Yay! Surgery on the 24th!
  10. Protein shakes.... my mortal enemy. Well.... until this weekend and we made nice, nice. I bought the GNC Pro Performance. I blend the powder, skim milk, 2-3 frozen strawberries, a few Libby's Skinny pineapples (canned low carbs/sugar) and 1 packet of Truvia. Its actually yummy and shake time isn't bad.
  11. Thanks! Me too. I will know by this afternoon.
  12. Liz who are you going through?
  13. July 24th if everything goes well with my EGD on the 16th. Day 2 of pre-op diet. Finally was able to blend a protein drink I could finish tonight. Not a fan of the protein shake situation. Lol
  14. If I do not have a hernia I can not afford to have the band placed. If I have a hernia the insurance paus for the repair amd the surgeey center. That brings the cost down to a level I can afford. Fingers crossed for a hernia. How crazy does that sound.
  15. I have the EGD to see if I have a hernia on the 16th. I'm nervous that they will not find one and ny surgery will be cancelled due to cost. And this pre-op diet is HARD! I'm going through True Results in Richardson. Any one else going through the same process?
