  1. That is encouraging. I am 2 days out and wondering if I did the right thing. I keep telling myself I did but because of the pain and now hunger I wonder.

  3. Wow good job. Did you feel like you could move better when the staples were out? Are your abs still tender? I didn't realize how much I used my abs until surgery.
  4. How are you guys feeling? How are you doing mentally with the food portion and post band diet? I have to admit that I am struggling today. Anyone else dealing with some post band emotions?
  5. One thing that helps the headaches is too add some sea salt to Water or shakes. The salt helps with headaches, nausea, mental fogginess. Add a teaspoon to whatever you are eating or drinking 2-3 times a day. It shouldn't increase your blood pressure or make you swell. it does help.
  6. Well just ate some jello. Whopee. Strange to eat such a small amount and be full. good news is that I get to have full liquids tomorrow. Anyone else having chest and shoulder discomfort with deep breathing? Gotta keep at it so I don't get pneumonia.
  7. Well on day 2 and pain control is much better so far. Hard to sleep in the hospital but I have managed together a couple of hours off and on. Looking forward to going home.
  8. Dont be afraid to ask for more pain medication if you need it. Everyone heals at their own rate and if you are hurting all the time you are less likely to be active which could lead to blood clots or pneumonia.
  9. I just was today. A little sore but overall okay. Hoping it will all be worth it. How was your pain on day two?
  10. Me too! On liquid diet today and checking in at 530 am!
  11. I'm right behind you. Good luck and we will talk to you on the other side.
  12. Welcome Kari! We are all here for support and will be there to pick each other up when we need a hand.
  13. Great! We have several people headed to surgery next week. I think having other people in the same boat is important. One of the things that the bariatric nurse coordinator said was that people who participate in support groups are more successful. I am glad I found everyone here.
  14. I have found this forum to be very encouraging and helpful as surgery closes in. Good luck!
  15. You can take fiber. You can use metamucil or fiber chews.
  16. If you are eating a lot of dairy that can cause diarrhea. The almond milk shouldnt cause the diarrhea. One thing would be to cut out dairy and add some metamucil to your shake the Fiber should help bulk up the stool. Good luck.
  17. I am to check in at 530 am on the 6th. Get to do Clear liquids for 2 days before surgery. I would go tomorrow if they would let me! I will post and check in after I wake up. Will look forward to hearing from other august banders as you get done! I feel like I'm going to peel away the old body to find the 'real' me! I can't wait to breathe better, have energy, and feel good about myself. You can be pitiful or powerful but you can't be both- Joyce Meyer
