August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?
Has anyone been on vacation yet after their band? I went out of town over the holiday and I felt tight. I had been to a different city with even higher elevation and had no problem. I did sip some coffee, someone suggested that and it did help. I am scheduled for a fill Friday. I have only been able to eat 400-700 cal a day and am not hungry. Don't think I need it. Still having problems getting in all my fluids. I did not have access to the forum over vacation and really needed all of you!

Day 4 post op and I just want to feel normal
I was banded Aug 6 and it took me 3 weeks to feel better. I have had many different surgeries and this was the worst by far. I have had an open appendectomy, csection, gallblaldder and flew threw those. This one was took me the longest to recover from. I had the 'what did I do' moments all the time for the first week and a half. Now I'm 3.5 weeks out and I'm fine. Just take your pain meds routinely, ice, sleep and take care of yourself.

I will post under monthly support groups Aug 2013. There will be a thread for monthly challenge. It's a good way to keep us accountable.- New Development. Need advice
I'm so sorry that you are feeling bad. If I might ask, how long ago was surgery? I hope you get better soon. No fun to be in the hospital but then again nor is being dehydrated. The iv Fluid will help you feel better while the swelling is going down.- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?
Alright band buddies. Should we start a monthly challenge under our Aug 2013 support group? From what I can tell you give your basic info: screen or real name, starting weight, weight now, and goal weight at the end of the month. We can modify and do it however we want. I hope we all can continue to be in our support group for years to come as this will be a life long process and for me personally I enjoy talking to everyone. I love that we are from all over the world. Let me know your thoughts.- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?

- It's not a UTI????
Have you logged to see if it diet related because there is a condition called interstital cystitis. Sensitive question but any pelvic pain with intercourse? It is common with ic. Google it and see if your sx match. There is also a list of foods to avoid for a while and see if it helps.- It's not a UTI????

Today it hit home how much I miss overeating. My brother was killed 18 years ago today and it is a turning point because I was 18 when he died. I have officially lived with him as long as I have lived without him. I so just want to go to mcdonalds for a mcgriddle for breakfast, lunch a Mexican food combination plate, supper sushi and an udon platter, and a large blizzard for a snack. Yes 'treating' myself is what got me into this mess and swallowing my emotions. Now I have to feel something other than overheating pain. The physical pain is much easier to deal with than emotional. I used to distract myself with working too much and school. I think I kept going to school to distract myself from dealing with the past. Now I just have to deal with emotion. Ugh. Need prayer today.- Need some advice, please no negeativity!
I don't know anyone that didn't have second thoughts. I had second thoughts right before they wheeled me back for surgery. I had coworkers tell me I didn't need the surgery and I looked fine but I didn't feel fine. That was the biggest thing. I am 36 and was starting to have health problems. I knew I couldn't go on like this. I needed energy and needed to ward off the impending health issues. You need to do what is best for you. Can there be complications? Yes. Could I die from the weight and have a poor quality life? Yes.- I did lt!
Holly Hang in there it will get better. I am 3 weeks out and have little tenderness at port but otherwise no pain. Always glad to talk if you need to vent.- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?
Hi Jama! I am doing much better. My energy is finally turning a corner and I started exercising today. I am down 15 lbs since surgery and I still have 2 weeks off! I'm going to enjoy them! I'm glad you are doing well and I understand the chips. I would love to eat a blizzard right now. Ice cream was my thing!- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?
Donna I'm sorry you are having a hard time. It is okay sometimes to have a pity party. I have them too. One of my favorite ministers Joyce Meyer always says you can be pitiful or powerful but you cannot be both. That has become the motto of my life. I am a nurse practitioner and most of my patients who have been banded need less medication as the weight comes off. They were an inspiration for me to get banded. I will pray for you.- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?

I sent think you are doing anything wrong either. If you are hungry you are eating, If you aren't then you aren't. I think it is easy for people that are not in our shoes to judge but they don't know when you are full and what you are fans aren't tolerating. Keep doing what you are if you are losing weight.- August 6th...time for a healthy change. anyone else new in august?
