Protein shakes
I am 9 months post op and drink a shake every morning. My NUT and doc are both ok with this. The rest of my day is primarily real food. I do eat a protein bar often in the late afternoon.

If you search Pinterest for zucchini noodle lasagna you will find several recipes. I actually combine elements from about three of the ones I found.

new foods?
I really enjoyed a recipe that I found on Pintrest. It was lasagna that had zucchini as the "noodles". So yummy!

Banders #6
SO you guys know how much I love my boxing classes. I feel so comfortable there and supported. And my confidence has soared since I started. Yesterday I was talking to the manager and he commented he could really tell I had lost some weight. When I told him how much total I had lost, he mouth dropped open. Then I told him how much I had lost since coming to the gym in December. He had to sit down. And then he sent out the weekly email to the members and it started like this: Hey guys, Starting out with the member spotlight really quick...my girl Diane Willingham is on fire! I commented that I could tell she has been losing some weight today and then she goes and drops a bomb on me. Since Diane joined in December she has lost 74lbs!!!!!!! Since she started her journey in October she is down over 140lbs!!! We are so pumped for you Diane...keep showing up and we will keep pushing you!!! So, that was a total highlight of my day

Banders Exercise
I wish my knees would let me try kickboxing. I LOVE the boxing classes I take! I sweat in so many places I have been boxing since December and can really see a difference in my arms and back. I hope your schedule lets you enjoy the classes often!

Banders #6
I had the best thing happen today! I went with my best friend to get a pedicure at our regular place. We haven't been there since the fall really. One of the regular ladies looked at my friend and said hello, asked where she had been, basically catching up. She then said "where is your other friend?" I said I am sitting right here! She got this look of shock and came over and told me how much different I looked and that she didn't recognize me Best pedicure EVER!

Hi!
Apparently I need to explain this to my personal trainer at the gym. He thinks the band should get all the credit for my hard work and I should get none. He's about to become my former personal trainer

Hi!
Welcome to our family! Life is good with the band...at least for me Set aside some time to do some soul-searching and get your mind ready. It's as much a mental transformation as a physical one. You have to accept that the band doesn't control the QUALITY of the food you eat. It also doesn't make you drive to the gym. You make the hard choices...steamed vs. fried, boxing class vs sleeping late, veggies vs chocolate. But, the rewards are amazing! Good luck and check in often! We are a friendly group (most of the time)

R U ready to recieve your Healthy Body? What R the TOP things you are excited to do when you hit your goal?
My doc and I talk all the time about the mindful part of the process. He's convinced that I've done as well as I have because I came to the decision slowly and carefully. I put in the work before the procedure to change my mindset. I acknowledged the parts of me that needed to change. I came to the surgery at peace with me. Part of this process (for me) was listing the things that I wanted to be able to do again (or for the first time). Here is my list. 1. Own/ride a bike (done...have been riding since January). 2. Move easier (done...arthritis pain is a minimum most days and controlled without meds) 3. Ride roller coasters (done...went to bush gardens in April) 4. Regain the self-confidence I lost over the years (work in progress) 5. Become friends with myself again (work in progress) 6. Wear cute clothes (I am a girl after all....LOL) 7. Laugh, live, and love bigger and bigger as my body gets smaller
-
Do you hope to get smaller than your goal? Why or why not?
I don't have a goal of being "skinny." I keep being told I am "skinny enough" but those people are just nuts. I still have more to lose. I just want to look, feel and be healthy. I figure if I make it to a size 10 or 12 pants then life will be good I'm at a size 14 or 16 (depending on the name brand) now. So, not much longer!

Do I need a therapist?
No shame in visiting a therapist. I have an appointment today. She is one of my most important tools. I've had such anxiety associated with this whole process. She has given me tricks and tips. I would be so lost without her. We have a lot to talk about today...like how I want to eat myself into a coma to deal with the nervousness of changing jobs. You know, little stuff like that...lol. Take care of yourself.

Banders #6
Ok friends...I'm about to put my will power to the test. I'm facing a change that is making me crazy nervous, but excited all at the same time. I have just accepted a new position at work. I know I'm going to love the new job. But...wow...normally during transition periods I eat myself to sleep. No more...I'm sure I will be tempted. I've always celebrated changes with big dinners out somewhere. Not this time, though. Not this time. So, bear with me if I get on here and whine a little. I'll try to be a good girl
