HI CUMBFROG. I AM 59 YEARS OLD AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OVER WEIGHT ALL MY LIFE. I AM NOW HAVING SLEEVE SURGERY AND WISH I WOULD OF DONE IT SOONER! I STARTED WITH ARTHRITIS AT 40 YEARS OLD THEN DIABETES AT 51. I HAVE HBP AND EVERYTHING ELSE YOU CAN THINK OF . NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GO THREW WITH IT OR DIE. YOU ARE YOUNG AND STRONG AND WOULD MOST LIKELY COME THREW IT VERY EASY. DO NOT WAIT ! BECAUSE I WAITED AND JUST GOT SICKER AND HEAVIER . 326 POUNDS RIGHT NOW. I WILL BE HAVING MY SLEEVE SURGERY ON NOV 20TH AND START MY POST SURGERY liquid DIET ON HALLOWEEN 31ST OCTOBER...WELL I WISH YOU LUCK AND HOPE YOU MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION....DIANE

Yes my doctors office called today and left a message to call them back to set up an appointment for sleeve surgery. but my primary still needs to send me to the heart doctor and have ultra sound on my abdominal area and blood work. so i am hoping late November early Dec?

Hello i am having sleeve surgery around the beginning of Nov, with Dr Braverman, here in Orange County.

I just got called to set up my date today...so it will be in November i hope!

I want to go Zip Lining and ride horses again!

I am waiting for my insurance to OK my lap-band surgery. But in the mean time i am eating like i always have,its like i know i will never be able to have these foods again. And i guess maybe i will feel deprived and have mad cravings? why do i do this knowing i need to change? I feel like i want to eat everything ,i guess like a alcoholic having his last drink before going in to rehab. I just hope that i can get over these feelings and have better control of my eating. Maybe i will have to change or die.

Thank You for your reply. I will be getting my surgery in September and I need to still control my bad habits. I am waiting for my insurance to ok everything. I have such a sweet tooth and I know I need to control that! Wish me a strong resolve! I NEED TO DO THIS!!! Bajagal

I am so happy to hear all the good reports!! I was concerned about my age (59) and doing the Lap Band Sugery. But i checked out several surgery studys that were performed on people over 50 and the outcome was positive and the pros and cons were no differant than younger people. That was nice to hear and made me feel better about the whole thing. So i will be banded in Sepember and i am looking forward to it. I am 312 pounds and have many health issues. this is sure better than dieing . Good luck to you all!.....Bajagal

Well it seems that i would rather have the Band than die sooner from all my obese related health issues. I am willing to take that small change that something would go wrong after. Eather way Lap Band seems like the best thing for me.

Hello Just wanted to read a study on Lap Band Surgery that was carryed out in adults over 50 and the results. I am 59 years old with many health issues and will be banded in September. I was concerned because of my age. Well heres the information i found. Lap band IS safe in older people and the out come was no differant that younger people. I was glad to hear that.
