  1. You'll be great! I've had multiple surgeries ranging from knee, shoulder, a couple c-sections, etc... I do have to say that my appendectomy hurt worse than my c-sections. It was all the air/gas that they pump in you. Just walk walk walk.... good luck and hope you keep us updated!
  2. Just read your post and I'm hoping you are doing ok after surgery today. I'm scheduled for 3/6/14. Keep us posted!
  3. I started my 2 week pre-op diet today and my surgery is scheduled for March 6th. I'm pretty excited to start a new life. I was pretty nervous until I had my pre-op surgery appointment this last monday and it really settled my nerves. I feel really prepared now. I'm just nervous about the next 13 days of this pre-op diet. Today hasn't been too bad, not really hungry, just a empty feeling in my belly. Good luck everyone.

  5. I have Cigna also, how long did it take to get approved? Btw, congrats to being one step closer!
  6. I'm hoping for the second week in Dec. Just have 1 more med superv diet appt and a sleep study for possible sleep apnea. I'm 6'0" and current weight 303 goal weight of 160. I'm getting really excited and nervous. On one hand I'm scared that the insurance will deny me, on the other hand I'm scared that they will approve it and my life will be completely different when it comes to food. I do all the baking for the holiday season and all the birthdays. Honestly I love cooking/baking, its my way of relaxing. I guess I need to find another hobby. I'm 35 yrs old, wife, and a mom of 3 young boys. I know I can do this because I have been researching wls for a couple years now. It just seems so surreal now I guess. Sorry for the ramblings. Lol
  7. Oh no that terrible! Hopefully it is an easy fix and you'll be back on schedule to start your new life! Good luck and keep us posted!
  8. *Fingers crossed* I have had my psych eval, 3 medically supervised diet appointments, and I've met with the nutritionist. Now I just need my letter for medical necessity and one more seminar through the surgery center/hospital and then I will be submitting all of it to Cigna for approval.
  9. That is where I'm going to have mine done at too. My surgeon is going to be Dr. Fang, who was yours? I would love to come to a support group, when are they? I live about 40 miles east of there. It would be great to have support other than my family (my husband has been great, he says he loves me the way I am and just wants me to be healthy). Sometimes I think people are judgemental toward wls and because of that I'm not very open about it to friends and some coworkers. How did you handle that?
  10. Have you heard anything back from Cigna? I have cigna also and just curious if you got approved. Good luck!
  11. I'm in east Mesa and I'm scheduled for surgery during Christmas break. Hope you are doing great. Where did you have surgery, how much time did you take off work. I'm hoping to be back to work after 2 weeks.
  12. I'm hoping to be on the schedule for right around Christmas time for my surgery. I work for the school district so it would be nice not to miss any work and recover during Christmas break. Good luck to you!
