  1. Same here, I first seriously considered doing the Lapband 3 years ago in 2010 but my insurance didn't cover it. My insurance still doesn't cover it, so I financed the $10K... I wish I would've done it 3 years ago!
  2. I wake up, take a shower, and then step on the scale butt naked. I find I'm a couple ounces less after a shower, I think your muscles are more relaxed, maybe? Anyways, every ounce counts!
  3. WOW 87lbs in 6 months.... that's freaking amazing!! Congrats!
  4. That's awesome! I cant wait to break into Onederland also
  5. Yes I'm on full liquids, looking forward to starting mushies on Saturday.
  6. Wow you've had quite the battle! Do you currently have the band fastened and filled?
  7. No hernia, he told me he would fill me a little during surgery, but I completely forgot to ask him how much he put post-op.
  8. Same here, I'm also one week post op. I'm really struggling drinking as much water as I should... it doesn't hurt, I have no problems keeping it down, it's just a much bigger effort to drink in the same quantities I used to.
  9. I had my surgery just the day before yours, Thursday 5/30/13. I feel very grateful, thankfully everything went smoothly. I don't feel sore at all today, and this morning I realized I was waking up on my side...which was definitely not happening just a few nights ago. Hopefully your soreness will fade away soon. Also, my doctor told me to take daily walks, and I've been doing that since Monday... I really think that also helped the soreness.
  10. LOL I have to agree with your doctor, thats pretty funny!
  11. I'm one week post-op, I haven't had any caffeine since prior to my surgery. When is it okay to have caffeine again? I'm dying to have a couple sips of cuban coffee... I'm from Miami it's everywhere I turn!
  12. You look amazing, great job! I just had mine 5/30/13.... Can't wait to be a few months down the road also!
  13. I'm been drinking Premier Protein shakes, you cant beat the 30g of protein per serving. As far as taste, I like the Muscle Milk banana cream and oreo cream... after being on clear fluids for so long, it tastes divine!
  14. I'm set for tomorrow too at 8:3am! So excited!... and nervous... and a little scared... Good luck!!
  15. I see so many people have dropped so much during their pre-op diet. My surgeon only asked I do three days on liquid before surgery, I'm kind of wishing he would've given me a pre-op diet to follow too.
  16. That's awesome! How much have you lost after getting the band, not including pre-op diet?
  17. My surgery is also tomorrow! I'm so excited, I keep looking at my phone waiting for them to call with my surgery time. Good luck tomorrow!!
  18. I had been struggling with those same thoughts too. I actually first seriously considered doing the lap band almost 3 yrs ago, but my insurance didnt cover it. I did a 'lifestyle change' and change my eating habits and went crazy with the exercise, lost about 25lbs and felt great. I told myself "hey, see... you didnt need the lap band" and gradually all that weight has come back on. I still continue to exercise, and I eat better than I used to, but I just cant get my eating under control. I feel like this will help me break that cycle.
  19. My surgery is this Thursday 5/30/13... I'm so ready to do this already!
  20. I'm also having my band done 5/30/13.... My doctor told me to be on clear liquids 3 days before the procedure... Let me know how it goes!
