  1. So I will tell you all the reasons I should have the band- BMI of 55 Heart attack at age 32 I am 34 now High BP Depression Pseudotumor Cerebri with severe papillo edema Hx of Pulmonary embolisms Pre Diabetic Reason Aetna denied me today- I gained 1.8 pounds since May!- they said they would have denied me with even an ounce gain. They implemented this new rule this month. I have been jumping through the Ins hoops for four months now. I was suppose to get banded Sept 27 instead I have two more weigh ins I am crushed.
  2. How is everyone doing do far on their journey? Where are you at this point?- still waiting, pre op diet, post op??? I am still waiting hoping the call I missed yesterday was the call to schedule! Tentatively scheduled for Sept 27.
  3. So I missed a call yesterday from Keri. I'm not sure if she's the surgery scheduler or not? I sure hope she is and we can finally get a solid date set for me!
  4. I got more Reinforcement why I'm not telling my coworkers today! We were talking about "master chef" and I mentioned the bigger of the three had WLS and a coworker said "well he's still big!" I was shocked and said "well he just had it done give him a minute!" Lol everyone must think you will wake up from surgery thin! >.< I don't want or need that negative judgement when I become banded!
  5. Missed a call from the doctors office (didn't recognize the number) and now we are playing phone tag Kind of worried because it was the not the scheduler that called me. Should this be a concern?(for the people using true results Scottsdale)
  6. I am not telling to many people. No one from work will know and most friends won't know. I have only told my aunt (she's my ride to and from the surgery), my kids (only because most of my appts were over the summer so they went with me), My PCP, and pharmacy( to see if I could switch some meds to liquid) I know most of the people in my life are very against any type of WLS. I don't want nor need to have that negativity in my life! I don't want people judging me if I don't lose as fast as they feel I should be. My coworkers would be the worst as my weight has been the butt of many jokes. I do wish I could tell more people and have their support, but that's just not possible with these people! I appreciate this forum and live that I can come here and vent and get info any time of day or night!
  7. Yay congrats! Keep us all posted on your journey!
  8. I hope to be proven wrong and I am pre op but have had my fair share of surgeries and usually it takes a couple days for the pain to come due to the anesthesia still being in your system for a coupe days. Like I said I hope I am proven wrong and you have no more discomfort than what you are feeling now! Congrats to everyone that was banded today!
  9. Do all the surgeons give this medical card or do I need to inquire about it?
  10. I went for my last appt on the 19th and called the ins company today to see where my paperwork was! I just want my approval! They said it could take a week (today) up to 3 weeks to get the approval! I'm not so patiently waiting! Good luck!
  11. I have not heard anything about needing an EDG. Is this normally routine pre op or just case by case? Oh and what exactly is an EDG?
  12. I have not heard anything about needing an EDG. Is this normally routine pre op or just case by case?
  13. I am also having my surgery with this Doctor! I am "patiently" waiting for the Ins to send through the approval glad to see so many with no complications using the Doctor
  14. Well it seems like things have really changed since these posts were made! I just completed my fourth and last Ins required weigh in with TR! I have seen the nutritionalist and the PA every time and will be meeting the surgeon the week of surgery (Sept 27). I don't know about the horribly long wait times as my appts are always at 8am! I hope everyone is going great! Would love some feedback from veteran bandsters
