  1. Hey everyone! I am 4 days post op and my nurses explained the strips could be removed after a week so the air can assist the stitches and incisions too heal. I would make sure you call your dr to see if you are able to remove them... It could be the fact they are still on. Causing the problem. Hope you feel better soon!
  2. LMAO! What are the men doing in the "powder room".??? Thanks for the link! Much appreciated
  3. Thanks! I emailed my nurse team and was told it was on to try... Everything went fine I feel all happy not having to crush now lol... pills taste awful haha.

Hello ladies! I am a few days post op and I was curious about medications... I have been crushing my pills and taking with juice. I was wondering if anyone takes "the pill" or something similarly small without crushing it? Also do any of you take capsules? Reactions? Thanks for the input girls!
  5. I was also banded on the 24th I'm not to have anything other than "full liquids" at this stage... I could not even imagine having solid foods yet! If I were you, I'd make sure to check the post op diet plan and follow it... You don't wanna hurt yourself while healing. According to my plan it takes 3-4 weeks to be back on a regular diet. Take your time and best of luck!
  6. Ha! I made cream of wheat and thought I was in heaven! Don't get me started on the yogurt drink Glad you are recovering so well! Keep it up!
  7. Hey gang! Had my procedure yesterday and everything went great was there for a few hours and able to come home. Very gassy but my Gas-X Is helping a lot. I'm wandering about the house but resting for the most part. How is everyone doing today?
  8. I can honestly tell you they got 85% compliance... There were a few meals in there but I tried to stick healthy and Protein heavy... I've lost about 10 lbs in the 2 weeks I was on it I'm quite pleased with that.
  9. Thanks for the support I'm really enjoying this site and the information and support it brings! I woke up this morning and I felt ready and in a good state of mind. I can't wait for all the wonderful changes I am going to experience because of this! Best of luck for all of you! I'll talk to you all soon
  10. Hi there! I'm having my surgery today While I do not have my "monthly" right now, my information just mentioned to wear a pad instead of a tampon for the procedure. Hope this helps! Best of luck
  11. Me too!!! Best of luck and hope you have a smooth recovery
  12. Thanks for the support! This site is amazing I love being able to talk to people with the same issues and experiences!
  13. That's amazing! Congrats on approval
  14. Wow.... The eve before surgery.... Went through my doubt stage a few days ago. Today is a different story, I'm really looking forward to the fresh start I made Jello and bought chewable everything today. Small bowls, tiny baby spoons too lol. I can't wait to get off the shake diet and enjoy Soup and jello! Gotta enjoy the little things Good luck to to everyone who will be or was recently banded!
  15. Wow, that sounds crazy! It also sounds like what happened at the CIBO CLINIC. I was scheduled for surgery with them and they went bankrupt and closed the doors without giving much notification. Thankfully they did not get any $ from me. Hopefully this is not the case with Slimband. Slimband is just another "banding" company. They don't use the "lap band" trademark.... I'm currently in Pre-op diet for my lap band with SMARTSHAPE my procedure is next Friday! Getting nervous now.... I'm trying my best to stick to the diet and have dropped 8-9 pounds this last week! Hopefully my liver will be in great shape.
  16. Hello all! My lunch date went great. Very cool Parents, I kept my meal simple and had a quiche with Soup... Before I started my liquid diet I was around 275... This morning I was 268.8. Sugar cravings still hit. I ate 10 smarties (Canadian) worth 50 calories today . I am only human! At least it wasn't an entire box right? I'm still feeling pretty tired... Hoping this passes soon and energy starts increasing again. How's everyone else doing this week?
  17. Thanks ladies! My dr has me on "Slim Time" it comes in a wide variety of 2 flavours... chocolate and vanilla. is for the greater good. I'm curious how much weight is gonna come off! 1000 calories a day is gonna show results!
  18. ACK! I can't believe how fast time is flying. Everything hit me on Monday when my Protein mix came to my door. Tomorrow is the start of my 2 week Pre-op liquid and veggie diet. I have a feeling the first 3 days will be the worst. I am going to need to break the diet for one meal (mothers day) I'm meeting the boyfriends parents for the first time . EXCITING! But, back to the plan immediately after! I'm going to try and use this forum to help get me through the rough hours lol. Best of luck to anyone recently or getting banded soon! Mines may 24th. Wow!
  19. Congrats on your new band! I have been told that they can't really tell if you will need that until they start the procedure and would fix it at the same time. How were you feeling later that day? I have been told the 2nd day is tough...
  20. Thanks! I'm in Maple / Vaughan area. Would be cool to meet up with people in similar states of recovery
  21. Hi Dee! Happy to meet another person going through the same place!
  22. Lmao! Why yes it is! He seems like a really cool doctor and was very down to earth. Is a rarity amongst doctors... I take it you were banded by him? I am off from school for the summer, will be nice to just focus on my new me till the fall.
  23. Hey everyone! After a minor set back due to the bankruptcy of the CIBO clinic.... I have followed up with SWLC and have a new date set for May 24th! So excited for a new beginning!!!
