Where to buy bariatric vitamins in Australia (online or in Sydney)
I got a liquid vitamin called Liquivita only to discover it has next to no vitamins in it. It does not get me even close to the recommended daily levels. I have ordered mini multivitamins from Chemist Warehouse for when I'm out of the liquid phase. I got a b12 sublingual spray from Healthy Life in Brisbane. I have not found chewable calcium citrate yet.

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Thanks for sharing the incision photo, Jimbo! I have had a few laparoscopic surgeries and it looks similar. Not bad at all. I hope I don't step on any toes by suggesting this but there is another really good forum at http://m.obesityhelp.com/forums/vsg/a,messageboard/ that I have found that looks really food. I am still pre-op but I find VST to be very repetitive except the Veterans board, this thread, and the Man Room! I think the other website might have more info. There are some great articles in another section of the site too. I'm not suggesting that anyone leave VST but consider adding the other one to your tool belt. I do get frustrated seeing the same questions over and over but I guess some people don't take the time to search. I certainly hope everyone takes the time to find out what and how much they should be eating, BEFORE getting up on the operating room. Is anyone on My Fitness Pal?

Choice of bariatric procedure, based on 20 years of practice
Great article! http://m.obesityhelp.com/articles/choice-of-bariatric-procedure-a-philosophy-obtained-in-20-years-of-bariatric-practice-2/ I accidentally linked to page 2 of 8 at first. Sorry about that.

Stretch marks and boobs question
No they don't. But they get smaller as you lose weight. People who aren't even fat get them too so don't stress out about it. My husband has them and he has never been fat.

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
Great idea, Bec! I think I will cook some broth too and maybe pea soup. I pre-registered for the hospital! This is getting real. I also would like to report that, at least for pre-op, the Celebrity Slim shakes are pretty good! And the shaker is awesome. The lid screws on rather than snapping on. There is a jagged ball inside that helps mix up the shake when you shake it. And there is a screw-off compartment in the bottom to hold a serve or two of shake powder! I wish I had this when I was doing optifast! The cheap shaker I had was leaky, the lid was almost impossible to remove without splashing shake everywhere.

Pylory bacteria
Most adults have it. It is bacteria that causes ulcers. You just have to take nexium which has antibiotics in it. They test for it by making you drink something and then breathe into a balloon. They can see if you still have it by what you breathe out. It's not always a problem to have h. Pylori.

Excellent book for bariatric patients...
I am pre-op but I read this book, as well as most of the other WLS books available for the Kindle, during my research phase. I saved this one to read again later, it was so good! Another great one is The Sleeved Life.

Did your feet get softer?
Thanks for the advice. The worst callous is at the front of the ball of my foot, right behind my second and third toe. The edges of my heels look crusty too.

Did your feet get softer?
I have had hard calloused feet as long as I can remember. I have tried so many different moisturizers. . If I use pumice or a file, it gets smoothe but comes back within a few days. Also if I get rid of the callouses, my feet get more sore from walking. So I am thinking the callouses are actually a defense against the weight. Have your feet gotten softer as you have dropped weight? I also get blisters from almost any dressy shoes, on the sides of my heels because my ankles are so fat.

Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I ordered two boxes of Optislim shakes (chocolate, espresso) and three boxes of soups (chicken, tomato, pumpkin) from Chemist Warehouse online. Free shipping! Hopefully I will be able to tolerate them for the first 2-3 weeks after the surgery until I decide what shakes I can handle and maybe get to the purée stage. I paid for my surgery today!

I'm so sorry for your loss, kelliv. How sad. When is the funeral? I have begun taste-testing Protein Shakes to see what I should order for the first couple weeks post-op. I just tried one from the same place where I got my Vitamins. It is called Garden of Life Raw Protein. It was awful. Chalky and had a weird taste. I could only get about half of it down and had to stop before I threw it back up. Ugh. I suspected this one would not be good so I'm glad I only got a couple of sample packets.

I will check thanks! What about the gall bladder? I think I would rather have it removed than have to have another surgery. What does it do anyway?- Attention ! Australian Sleevers
I had a mild gall bladder attack tonight I think. I have had the same thing before where it feels like my whole back is spasming. Awful. It made me wonder something too. I had an endoscopy a couple years ago and I was told I have a mild hiatal hernia. So I was wondering if during the surgery they fix the hernia and/or take out the gall bladder, if it would change anything about the surgery and what was covered. Maybe if the sleeve was just one part the out of pocket would be less. Do any of you know? Some people in the US have had luck with that.- Good luck May 1-7!
I guess we didn't have any May 1 or 2? Who will be the first May sleever? - Attention ! Australian Sleevers
