  1. I'm sure other people have had this problem. My dad was against the surgery thing before my lap band, so now, no matter what I say I can't get him to understand why I am doing this revision. I told him that there is no way he could ever fully understand because be has never been over weight. I don't know what else I can to to get him to see that this is what's best for me.
  2. I haven't been denied by BCBS yet but the dr to me that unless they can find anything wrong with the band, BCBS MI only covers 1 bariatric surgery per lifetime
  3. What kind of options are there if insurance won't approve a band to sleeve revision? Like where can I go where it is inexpensive to self pay?
  4. I also have BCBS and I'm sure they won't cover a revision unless its medically necessary or the band has failed. Either way I am getting the revision even if I have to pay out of pocket. I thought getting the lap band would be the best thing ever, but its the complete opposite. I wish I had known about the sleeve before, I definitely would have gone that route instead!
  5. Had anyone on here had a lap band to sleeve revision? I have had the lap band for just over a year now and I HATE it. I have had tons of problems with heartburn and having to have the bad completely unfilled for months at a time. At first I lost around 40 lbs but now I am basically back to where I was before I was banded. I am strongly considering getting a revision to the gastric sleeve. I basically just want to know how successful the sleeve is and if insurance will cover the revision?
  6. I have had the lap bad for just over a year now an i have exactly the same problems that you have written about. Do you know if insurance will cover a revision?
