  1. I guess it depends on the person and whether or not they have a good support system. I told everyone close to me, and only told others if they asked, or as someone said before, if it could potentially help them to know. I just adapted my outlook on what people thought to the 'I don't give a f***' attitude. Having wls was a choice I made for both my physical and mental health, and no one has to like or accept it other than me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Anewme215 I think I got kind of lucky to be honest. The most exercise I've done is walking. I think my job is what toned up my upper body. I'm a hair stylist so my arms are up all day.
  3. britt1511 I'm 5'2.5". Had my surgery 5/28/13, so just under 16 months out. Hit my goal at 9 months and 2 days.

  5. HW 246 SW 223 CW 114 I was a little weary at first, especially having had the lap band fail the first time around. But getting the sleeve was the best decision I have ever made for myself. I have never been able to look in the mirror and like what I see, until now who knew I would ever like to be in pictures?!
  6. The older picture was just March 15th. The newer is yesterday I'm pretty surprised that my skin is continuing to shrink back on its own! I didn't think it all would!
  7. The only problem I've had so far is that I can't stop loosing. What a problem right??! My goal weight was 125, and I keep loosing!
  8. I am a few days shy of 11 months post op. I seriously never cold have imagined being this happy and comfortable in my own skin! What an awesome feeling! High Weight - 242 (got that # wrong before) Start Weight - 223 Current Weight - 119!!!
  9. I was a band to sleeve revision as well. Where are you from?
  10. This is seriously amazing!!! And you look amazing as well! Congratulations! And btw I love your hair!
  11. I haven't ever seen a post about this before, and it's a little weird. Has anyone experienced getting too boney? I am noticing this with my body, primarily my tail bone area. I feel like it's too boney! Like I will sit down and feel like I'm sitting on something and then I realize it's my tail bone! And also, the loose skin in the area around the tail bone, sometimes it feels like I'm pinching my skin when I sit! I guess it's better than having too much fat but I'm slightly worried!
  12. So as of March 2nd, (2 days past my 9 month surgeversary) I have reached my goal weight!!!!!! I am ECSTATIC! I never NEVER dreamed that it was possible to be this small! And even better, I feel incredible! This journey has been truly life changing! 9 months, and 111lbs lost! It doesn't even seem real! High weight: 236 Starting weight: 223 Current weight: 125!!! Started out at a size 16/18. Now (and this is still hard for me to believe) I am a size 3!!! I've never been a 3 in my life!
  13. You look absolutely amazing! Congrats!
  14. Had my 8 month follow up with my surgeon today. High weight 240. Starting weight 228. Current weight 136! New goal weight 125. 11 lbs to go! I seriously can't believe how quick the process went! Unbelievable!
  15. I am also a Michigan sleever
  16. I haven't seen anyone on here that went to the same surgeon as me. If you are still looking, Dr. Mark Pleatman is a very very good surgeon. Had my VSG May 28, 2013 @ St. Joseph Mercy of Pontiac. I am 7.5 months out and down 95 pounds! Only 10 more to go!
  17. I was sleeved May 28, 2013. It's been just over 7 months and I've lost 90 lbs with NO exercise! Kind of weird to see such amazing results without adding exercise in there, but I am NOT complaining! I am 9 lbs away from my goal and all that's really left to do is tone, so I will be starting exercising soon
  18. Here's mine 7 months out and 85 pounds down! Only a few more to go!
  19. My progress Surgery date: May 28, 2013 Starting Weight: 228 Current Weight: 143 Goal: 130
