  1. I have not been banded yet but I am really worried about pre and post op. I cannot imagine anything tasting good through a blender and im really fussy. Don't eat cottage cheese at all. Can't we just chew the tuna really good so it mushed in our mouth?
  2. Hang in there. Question. I know you said your insurance denied you - mine did too but my Dr appealed it and it got approved. Worth trying if you have not already. We have all been where you are so continue to stay on this board and the support will really help. . Donna
  3. Good for you!! Surgeon did a beautiful job. Feel better soon. Donna
  4. You look beautiful! Congrats. I can't believe you have 34 to go.
  5. Your pcp could also refer you to someone.
  6. Hi. I am in RI and hope to have surgery in June. I hear that Tufts and MGH are great. Check them out on line under bariatric surgery and make an appt. for a consult. Good luck to you!
  7. I agree. I have finally completed all my testing. Has been almost a two year process for me because I had no other underlying conditions like sleep apnea etc. Also, insurance denied me because my Bmi was off by like one point. I have gained 100 pounds in the last 15 years due to pregnancy, losing my mom and having breast cancer. I am so happy that my appeal was granted and I go to the drs May 23 and will hopefully get a surgery date. Very very nervous about pre op diet. I did not do well on the medi fast diet years ago and I obviously love to eat. But I no longer want to look like this, feel tired and achy all the time - it affects every part of my life. I will keep everyone posted. I am so thankful for this site.
  8. Thank you so much. After almost a two year process - denied from ins then an appeal, I have finally been approved. I just need to complete bloodwork and then meet with my dr to get a date for the band. I am a diet coke drinker. It's all I drink. I know I won't be able to and I am glad about that because I know how bad it is for me. I just worry that I won't be able to do it. I know I can have crystal light but I really want to get away from the nutra sweet. I also am a fast eater and don't chew my food like I should. I hope I succeed. I am in Rhode Island. Any others from the New England area? This website has been such a great support system. Thank you all!!
