  1. I've called my insurance and they sent me a form to make sure my surgeon completes... And I gave it to them. I've been up my surgeons a$$ to say the least bc I've been so concerned that they're not telling me the right thing for insurance. I love the office and they always put my mind At ease - but being that my surgery is scheduled for aug. 5th I'm nervous I won't get final approval.
  2. This thread is making me so nervous! My surgeons office has me meet with a physicians assistant every month of my 6 month supervised through insurance - and I only met my surgeon in person 1 time. I hope this doesn't effect my approval as well :-( my last appt with the PA is this week... :-/
  3. I'm not fully approved until all my clearance is completed ... That happens all of July for me - hoping my surgery is still aug. 5th
  4. That's great... Are you already banded?
  5. Where in the city are you from? I work close to Queens
  6. Anyone here from Suffolk county ? I'd love to talk to or possibly meet and maybe walk with someone from around here :-)
  7. I'm from Long Island, New York :-) any fellow long islanders?!
  8. This is amazing!! Congrats... But can I ask a silly question?! What's an NSV?
  9. You should look into band with plication- I'm having that and it's similar to the sleeve but reversible
  10. I'm August 5th too... Just waiting on a sleep study and then specialist clearance in July and god willing my insurance will approve it!! So excited to start seeing August dates popping up :-)
  11. Jdn9119 I had the same reasons... Reversible was SO important and also pregnancy... I want more children I needed to know that I could get the necessary calories and nutrients with pregnancy... So those were my reasons (and it's less invasive)
  12. What about a "band cation" for a few weeks and then start over... It's worked before Maybe it would work for you? Just means you let it all out and then basically start over. Idk just an idea
  13. Thank you!! Good luck to you guys As well
  14. I saw your apology- and tried writing back. I appreciate any honesty I receive but that was not what angered me in your post. I do appreciate the apology and I could not write back... Something is wrong with my PMs because it would not allow me to respond. I realize many people have not gone to the great lengths I have gone to assure I'm making the right decision - and those were the people you were directing that post at. I just didn't like that you assumed I was one of them. I hope to only see positive from here on out. Not that I do not expect to see negative posts but do not appreciate nastiness. I do want to assure you that I did not block you / I do not even know how to block someone. Lol
  15. Baygirl... I'm not sure what you gathered from my post that made you assume what you clearly have assumed about me. I started my research last year... I was athletic in shape and in fantastic Health until having my daughter at 20. I've gained and lost over 100lbs multiple times in the past 9 years. It's been over a year since I began researching and talking to friends and strangers about the good the bad and the ugly and i made a decision... In January I went to my surgeons office for a consultation after THOROUGH research... I have been seeing a nutritionist, NP at the surgeons office, my primary MD, 4 specialists And monthly support groups as well as online support groups, this forum, and Private friendships I have built from these different sources every month since january. Including a walking group with pre and post op patients... When i started this post it was bc i met the actual surgeon... That does not mean i have not put in the time and research! I do not know what makes you the end all be all of WLS but I will tell you that 3 months after surgery I bet I will have complaints - and days will suck... But nothing has sucked more than being uncomfortable in my own skin since the day I became pregnant. I have fought the demons in my head for 9 years and this Is my last resort... I am ready. More ready than I bet you could say you were. And in 5 years when I'm whining about not having beer or getting divorced (which is ridiculous) - I hope you're off this website so I can get the support I need. People like you do not help. The good bad and ugly of surgery helps me and I cherish every post I see - but your post was stereotypical and an uneducated response to what clearly are your own problems... Not mine. I am the nicest person and I have been nothing but supportive on here. I haven't had one complaint about anyone I've met or spoke with on here until you.
  16. I'm August so you and I will still be waiting :-) I'm 29
  17. I was actually diagnosed with high blood pressure yesterday - sad day and the headache associated sucks... But it's got to be good for my approval! Lol
  18. I have asthma, reflux, insomnia and possibly sleep apnea I'm waiting for that test... I have magnacare and I'm in NY / where are you in jersey? We're prob not too far from each other
  19. Didn't mean to send that so soon... Lol I would love to keep in touch... I feel like my surgery is so far Away but I like hearing how my band friends are doing!
  20. I wish I knew what comorbitities my insurance required
  21. Same with pants for me too... 16s are tight and 18s are big... Or they just look awful - either way I hate wearing anything other than sweat pants lol
  22. You have the same stats as me that's awesome! What are your comorbitities?
  23. Thanks everyone... I'm 5'6 235lbs. BMI 37.5 with asthma, reflux, insomnia and possibly sleep apnea (sleep study this weekend)... I know he didn't mean it bad but my goal is 135 that's 100lb weight loss!!! I need this surgery to change my life!
