  1. Saralou, did you have your surgery yet?
  2. Thanks saralou! I am going to my doc tomorrow to get the chantex rx. Did you have any crazy dreams etc? I've read that is somewhat of a common side effect...
  3. @rox. I am having surgery in Mexico too, TJ on 6/17. When is your surgery?
  4. I will start by saying I know cigarettes are bad for you in general, and regarding this surgery they will greatly slow the recovery process. With that said, I have smoked for 20 years. Through all of my research on this surgery for some reason I never considered I would have to quit. I enjoy my food, obviously too much, my glasses of wine and my cigarettes. I now and giving up the food, wine and smoking too, all at the same time??? My pre op diet starts on one week and I'm starting to freak out. I know this is all for the greater good.... Is anyone else having or had similar issues??
  5. I chose Spirit Airlines, great price on my ticket even tho they charge for seat, carry on etc. check them out:)
  6. I am going alone to TJ June 17, surgery with Dr. Lopez. I'm not scared at all... I have found the surgery in Cancun to be more expensive, as are the flights. You can look for a sleeve buddy on this site that will be going at the same time as you. I see people on here going to TJ everyday. I booked with Ronda at A Lighter Me and I'm happy with my choice:). Also the added expenses would be her flight, food and passport. At Mi Doctor Hospital you can have a guest stay with you in the room, then when you check into your hotel of course she can stay with you there, no extra charges.
  7. Hang in there, take deep breaths it will all be fine. I know it's hard especially prob being hungry and thirsty. You are on your way to doing something so great for yourself!!!
  8. I am going to Dr. Lopez June 17, same day surgery. $4650, plus $500 to remove gall bladder. Apparently the gall bladder can go bad after this surgery. So I decided to do it with my sleeve to avoid potentially being cut open again when I get home... I am very happy with my choice in doctor:)
  9. Anyone going same time as me, June 18th surgery at Mi Doctor? If so I'm looking for sleeve buddies!
  10. Anyone had the lapband done in Mexico that lives around Dallas/Ft.Worth? I am searching for a Dr. to do fills, heard that they are hard to come by. I will be booking my surgery in Juarez or TJ, and would like to find a Dr. at home prior to surgery.
  11. I am trying to choose a Doctor. Isn't Dr. Alamanza at Jerusalem Hosp, which I have read is in a strip mall? I really would like to hear more detailed experiences about this place.. Any info is appreciated greatly!
