Hi,

I'm a 43, married with 3 gorgeous grown up children and live in Melbourne.

I had my first Lap Band in May of 2005. After having difficulties I had the band replaced in November of 2007. After further difficulties I then progressed to the Sleeve in August 2008. I have been very fortunate with my Sleeve and had no drama with it except with my mindset in the early days. I no longer stand on the scales as I choose not to live my life by numbers. My goal is to drop another dress size. My surgeries were all performed by Chris Hensman and Ray McHenry at Lap Surgery Australia in Boronia.

Most of my adult life I ran some pretty bad self-sabotaging behaviours in regards to my weight. It was when I had the sleeve that I had my wake up call. I was still making excuses for not losing as much weight as I wanted, and my surgeon made it clear NO MORE SURGERY!! If I wanted to succeed then I had to get myself together and address what wasn't working and go back to the start and address how it started and move beyond that.

Earlier this year I was invited to publish my journey in Bariatric News. Click the link if you would like to read my story.

I'm currently studying and working with people who are going through similar situations with weight loss surgery. On my journey I have discovered so many things about myself and why I developed the behaviours that I did. Once I was aware of what I did, then it became so easy to be in control of my emotions and control my behaviour around food and my self image. I've been mentoring for over four years and it gives me the utmost pleasure in helping people to breakaway from what's holding them back.

I am a keen fan of the performing arts and have been working with professional dancers for many years who keep me entertained with their offstage antics haha!! I enjoy socializing with my gorgeous friends.

Cheers

KYE
