  1. They showed up in that post!! Yum!! I can't wait to try it!!
  2. I just live 5 hours away (driving) from San Diego in Phoenix, so we're going to drive over a day or two ahead of time and drop the girls off with my sister or parents, then head down from there.
  3. That's why I love you!!! Hahaha Thank you!! I think I'm gonna try this tomorrow. I've been thinking about it since I saw your post!!
  4. I love the idea, and with 2 toddler girls at home, I have PLENTY of pink sippy cups! lol But some seem to take it a lot more air than others. And I think the poster that talked about the spill proof valves was onto something. There's a "take and toss" line that has sippy cups that don't have a valve but don't spill much either. They're not leak proof but they seem to me to add the least amount of air per drink!! Maybe worth a try? Maybe I'll ask the doc about sippy cups now!! Lol I was so clumsy during my second pregnancy my husband and mom made me drink out of them after so many spills!!! Lol so I've had plenty of practice! Hahaha
  5. Lol he's available to other sleevers for moral support and Jello services only!!! hahaha Really, he's very sweet and caring, it will be nice to have one fully able bodied person to look out for us patients, whether there are two or three of us!! Haha
  6. You know I love ya!! I think shopping sounds wonderful!! If I didn't have the kiddos I would so go a few days early just to shop!! Lol FUN! Exiting to think of finally enjoying clothes shopping. If you're gonna go single incision you can just start bikini shopping
  7. This site has been such a huge help to me. I know what you mean about family and friends. I am lucky to have their support and love, but nothing compares to talking to people on the same path as you!! Glad you're here!!
  8. I saw your post somewhere about dry frying tofu. I want to try it, it sounded so yummy!! Will you repost again how you do it? I'm lazy and don't wanna go to my computer to search it out lol
  9. Where in San Diego do you live, Betty? I grew up there and all my family still lives there so I visit about once a month!!
  10. I really hope your friend comes too and we can have a sleeve sister party! Lol But I told you, you won't be solo while you're there, even if she doesn't. I'm bringing my hubby who is such a great caretaker and I can loan him out to check on you too!!! I know you'd still be flying alone, which is a little overwhelming coming that far, but if you do the single incision, you can hopefully have an easy flight home!! But while you're there you can be an honorary member of the Johnson family!! lol
  11. LOVE cauliflower rice!! It's one of the few carb replacements that actually feels like carbs to me!! YUM!! Here's the link to where I learned how to make it! OP may even have a better one!! http://www.everydaymaven.com/2013/how-to-make-cauliflower-rice/
  12. Oh Amanda, I'm so sorry. I had some pregnancy induced heart issues a few years ago and its terrifying!! I'll be praying for you until you're home safe and can follow up. Hopefully you can keep your anxiety level down until you get your (gentle) hugs!! Much love!!
  13. You're very welcome!! When I've had to be on liquid diets for other surgeries I definitely let my water intake drop. It just doesn't occur to you when you're drinking everything else!! Lol Hopefully that will help until you talk to the doc!! Certainly won't hurt anyway
  14. Lol Amy! You're so cute. And unfortunately I've lost and gained weight (up to 100lbs) more times than I'd like to count, and really, you could look in the mirror 10 pounds from now and your butt might be a whole new shape!! Lol Don't worry about it. You need to focus on resting and getting better. Your first couple weeks have sucked! But, it's all downhill from here!!!
  15. Oh wow, that is incredibly frustrating!!! I know you can't help but feel like it's never gonna happen when you keep getting pushed back further and further! I'm so sorry you're going through all of that. I was frustrated at having to change my date 3 times just due to my husband's work schedule. It was over 2 months away, so adding an additional 2 weeks felt like torture. And I haven't even had to deal with half of what they've put you through. I know it's frustrating and no one would blame you for being aggravated. But you have a wife and seven kids (and I'm tired with 2 lol) and if these extra steps can even give you a 1% chance at a healthier and less risky surgery, it's worth every minute of the delay!! You will be sleeved and you will be a healthier, happier dad and husband... Just a little later than planned. But try not to let it get to you too much (I know, easier said than done). Your time is coming!!! Keep pushing through. You are so blessed to have a wife fighting so hard for you! Take the extra steps, as unnecessary as they may seem, to ensure the least risky surgery possible!! In the meantime... vent away buddy!!! I totally understand
  16. I'm so sorry! That sounds awful! I know from past experience that liquid diets can cause some muscle fatigue and/or cramping, but in just one day that seems odd. I would definitely talk to your doc about it. I know you're on liquids, but are you drinking enough water? Drinking plenty of water can really help with muscle cramps, though it would seem you'd be getting plenty on a liquid diet! lol But upping your water intake for right now, may help some until you can talk to the doc tomorrow!! Hope you feel better soon!! It'll all be worth it!
  17. I'm so glad you're feeling better Amy!! Your plan sounds a lot like the one I did!! The Coumadin kinda sucks but you'll adjust and the 6 months will be over before you know it!! Really am SO glad you're feeling better!!!
  18. So glad!! Rest, walk, rest & walk!! Check in when you're feeling a little better!!! Congratulations!!
  19. Lol I hope I feel well enough to let people know I'm alive, but that's about all I plan on talking to you people from the hospital!! Lol
  20. I'm sure he's ok, just wiped out and drugged up, but I'd feel better knowing he's good!
  21. How did it go?! Thinking of you!!
  22. I'm am honestly sorry you felt personally attacked. That wasn't my intention. However, name calling is different and actually not allowed. I'm bowing out of this thread. I stand by what I've said, including my apology that you felt attacked personally, but insults and name calling are just a bit much for me.
  23. I think maybe the apology should be for calling someone that name at all, no matter their weight! I think we should all be above going to that level.
  24. Lol yes, but I can't help but notice you direct interested parties to YOUR personal sales website. Not general information about the product from the manufacturer.
