  1. Sadly, I'm physically disabled due to two strokes and severe osteoarthritis. My surgery was on 12/28/13. I lost 33 lbs without exercise. Now, my weight loss has stalled and I'm not losing anymore. I want desperately to exercise but the pain in my knees is so severe that I can't bear weight on my left leg yet. I try to do upper body exercises while sitting. I try leg exercises while lying in bed. I'm hoping as more weight comes off I'll be able to do more exercise. As it stands now, it's going to be a very long hard journey in the weight loss battle. In theory, you can lose weight without exercise but it will take a lot longer! Also, the flabby thigh and arm syndrome are a surety if you don't exercise. Even with exercise there will be loose skin. I need to lose 100 lbs. And hopefully I will be able to see a light at the end of the tunnel and I'll be able to walk better and exercise more. Good luck everyone!
  2. I was banded 12/28 also and I'm down 33 lbs. Just had my second fill. I was always hungry after my first fill but still lost weight. Where do you live in TX? My son lives in San Antonio and my daughter lives in San Marcos!
  3. Hi I was banded on 12/28/12, I'll be 65 in May and I have to say I'm happy I did it. I have not lost a tremendous amount of weight. I was 254 when I got banded and now I 'm 229. That's 25 lbs and I've had one fill but it I don't think my fill was enough because I'm still hungry but it's a process of trial and error until you hit that sweet spot.
  4. Hi I had my surgery 12/28/12. Everyone thought I was crazy to start this during the holidays but having the pre-op liquid diet of Optifast worked for me. I even did a 7 day cruise on 1/28/13 with my doctor's knowledge. He said to use wise choices on the cruise and that nobody was sticking a gun to my head to eat. Well, I did OK because I came back from the cruise with a 10 lb loss. I had my first fill on 2/6/13 but now I'm not getting that stop feeling I was getting when I started. I also made some bad choices like yesterday I went to the movies after a yr hiatus. I still can't resist the smell of movie popcorn even though it is unbuttered. I shared the popcorn with a diet coke which I only took mini sips of because I didn't want to wash the food down. Anyway, even though I didn't eat all the popcorn I felt guilty. I was also unable to eat anything else for the rest of the day because I didn't feel full but I wasn't hungry at all, so I didn't have dinner. My question is this: does anyone slip with a bad choice and feel guilty? I'm concerned I'm going to have a weight gain for making a bad choice
  5. Hi I live in Titusville but had my surgery in St Petrsburg with Dr Rehnke. I'm looking for support. Had my fill 2/6/13 first one and I don't think it's working. I'm not getting that full feeling like I did in the beginning.
  6. Hi, I'm from Titusville and was banded on 12/28/12. I was banded on the West Coast but need support because I don't think my fill is working. I am not getting that full feeling like I did last month. I had my fill Feb 6th and I'm thinking I should call my surgeon. Any advice?
