  1. Yes heartburn is the same as reflux as far as I know.
  2. Kortolano-My surgeon did say sometimes people with reflux get it so bad it does not even respond to medications. In that case, he said the sleeve could be converted to a bypass. But, I don't want that to happen obviously. That makes sense-stopping and walking a bit between bites. I find if I slouch while eating or drinking and for a little bit afterward, it makes the reflux and gas worse. So I try to sit as straight as possible and not sit too much after eating.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I have an appointment with my surgeon on Thursday so I'll tell him whats happening. I had egg salad for lunch, maybe I put too much low fat mayo in it.
  4. Yes I take Prevacid. I had relux issues before surgery so maybe he will have to increase it. I just started on puree food this morning and I was only able to eat about 1/2 of a 1/4 cup at breakfast and lunch. We'll see. Thanks!
  5. Hello....I am 8 days post op. Is it normal to experience some mild reflux and gas bubbles? The bubbles feel like they are coming up my throat when I eat or drink. Thanks
  6. Mine is 7 so I guess that would actually be "high" but it would be hypothyroidism
  7. Did anyone have a low TSH level in their pre-op blood work and if so, did this delay surgery? Thanks
  8. What do they do during the cardiac clearance? Thanks

  10. Hi everyone. I am 32 years old and hoping to have surgery by March or April. I was told i had to quit smoking which I did on January 8th and have not had a cigarette since. I also have to lose 20 lbs before surgery. But, I am having a hard time mostly emotionally giving all this up. It's so hard to not smoke because I used to use that to control my anxiety. I also have a hard time losing weigtht cuz I'm hungry all the time. I'm mulling through all of this and trying to find other ways to deal because I know it will be worth it in the end when I have surgery, but has anyone else gone through this or is going through this that can give me a little encouragement/advice/support? I'm a stay at home mom with a 3 year year old and a 1 year old and I get stressed out easy. Thanks
  11. I tried the WonderSlim program and the foods are not that good. Most of the puddings/shakes have a bitter aftertaste in my opinion. The soups and meals are sorta gross too. If you want to try them, I have a ton of stuff I could send you to try out if you want.

  13. Congratulations you look great just the way you are right now. How much more do you want to lose?
  14. JerseyGirl, I am impressed with your weight loss so far, that is awesome. Congratulations! I am in the beginning process and have my first appointment Monday. My weight is close to your beginning weight and I hope I lose as much as you did so far.
  15. Does anyone have Capital Blue Cross Traditional that was approved for a gastric sleeve? Thanks
