HW: 304 SW: 284 CW: 253.6 Clearly I am a slow loser - but I'll take it. Just happy that I can keep the scale moving in the right direction with all of the traveling and hotel living I do for my job. Have a great week everyone!

Gastric Sleeve and MRIs
I asked the same question. I was told my sleeve would have no bearing on getting an MRI.

what kind of gas
I think it depends what gas you are referring to. There is some gas pain and pressure from the bowels "waking up" after surgery. But it actually takes time due to the waking process before you can expel that. However, the gas that is pumped to assist the surgeon is much different. That is CO2 that cannot be removed at the time of surgery. That gas is dissipated through the tissues and through the respiratory process. Again, I did not have problems with either...but everyone is different.

what kind of gas
I believe you are referring to the gas that's in the body post surgery. They pump gas into you during surgery so that they can access the areas they need to easier. After the surgery the gas has to work its way out of your system - often it's manifested in abdominal pain and shoulder pain. The more you walk the better you will feel. I really had no pain after surgery - but I did a lot of walking. I don't believe it has anything to do with the "direction" you were referring to - but, then again, I had no problems with either.

Drinking water after operation
I understand it to be the way magtart does. But I did push as much Water as I could tolerate. Good luck! Glad everything is going well so far!

R there any Dec 2013 sleevers
I know but numbers drive us!!! It's hard not to focus on numbers!!! Do you eat any carbs I also found a meal plan an they actually have the carbs I have been eating made me feel better about having carbs I know - it's hard. I even look at yours and think - wow - 43 lbs since December 10th! I eat very few carbs at this point. I am really never hungry and am fairly rigid about what I eat and exercising. Sometimes I think I am not eating enough - but the clinic assures me that I am doing well with diet and exercise. Slow but sure for me - I guess!

R there any Dec 2013 sleevers
I had my surgery on December 26th and have lost 24 since then. I questioned the nurse practitioner at my appointment a couple of weeks ago. I, too, was concerned I wasn't losing at the rate I see people on here losing. She chewed my butt in a polite manner. She said there are a variety of reasons people lose at whatever rate they are losing at. She reviewed my food diary and assured me that I was right on target...to only focus on my weight loss and not what I see others doing. So, I can relate. Good luck to you! I have been trying to focus on my weight loss and healthy lifestyle changes. :-)

Post-op Pain Control? IV Tylenol? Not convinced.
I don't know what was in the IV. But other than what was in the IV, I took no pain medication. Had minimal (very) pain.

WTH are some people thinking disregarding post-op diet rules?
I told my surgeon that fear is/was a very good deterrent for me. I didn't deviate from his directions one iota. I was too worried about the ramifications. ME TOO!!!!!

Blood clots are rare, but.....
Most importantly - you are ok!!! I think your post is great. Blood clots were a real concern for me as my family has a history of clotting issues. My surgeon took it very seriously and made my plan accordingly. Your post has some wonderful points and thoughts for others to consider and be mindful of!
