  1. I am newly banded but looking forward to reading the results of this poll. Thanks.
  2. I am day 6 post op also and have decided not to even torture myself with the scale. I feel like I have so much weight to lose that I am going to know when the results are coming in. Thus far I have only had water and hot tea, my physician did not talk to me about protein intake so I am not stressing on that. Tomorrow I go to full liquids for 2 full weeks and will introduce real food the weekend of Easter which should be a good test :-)
  3. Congrats and good luck to all having or had surgery this week. Mine was on March 1 and today is the 5th and I feel great. Gas is pretty much gone and insisions look and feel great. It is hard to believe a week ago I was still on preop diet and stressing about surgery! It all worked out wonderfully. :-)

  5. Mileend, I thought the same thing during preop, first it was very difficult but I was glad to get a taste of what it was going to be like after surgery. And second, my surgery was Friday and I am in no risk of wanting to eat...clear liquids are more than enough, trust me. I have sipped water and hot tea for 2 days and I feel full all the time. So no worries about "if" you will be able to do it. Your body will let you know for sure.
  6. Surgery was this morning and I must say all went well. Yesterday I was freaking out for no good reason. I am very sore but nothing worse than oh maybe contractions, lol. No issues at hospital postop my room mate also had lap band this morning and her husband had it 1 year ago and has lost 130 pounds so he was very positive and inspirational. I pray all my fellow Marchers have an equally good experience.
  7. Also, as perfect as I have done on pre op diet, today is day 8 with nothing but shakes and water, my mind keeps telling me I want that last meal! I have already been through that not sure why the urges are back but I have been doing mind over matter all day.
  8. Surgery in the morning...I made the mistake of reading the day of surgery stories on here last night, so now I am so very nervous. I have tried all day to think about anything else but my nerves have taken over. Jen, what time is your surgery tomorrow?
  9. d9leigh...good luck. It will be rough the first few days but it gets soooo much easier. I am on day 7 and as long I do not smell food I am good.
  10. Went to doctor yesterday, day 7 of preop diet and lost 13 pounds!! So exciting, I have never lost 13 pounds in a week. Surgery friday, can't wait!
  11. Same day also. I see some people on here are overnight or a couple of days. Im not sure what determines that. I guess probably a combo of doctor preference & health insurance.
  12. Good luck to you to! Are you same day surgery or overnight?
  13. Alig02, I am having my surgery Friday also, 6am! So excited! 3 days left. I feel like a little kid waiting for my Birthday, I am not counting today or Friday!
  14. Day 5 of pre op diet with 3 shakes a day and as hard as it is for me to believe it has actually gotten easier. Smells..smells..smells..as long as I do not smell food, I forget it even exsists. Surgery on Friday, can not wait! Can not believe it got here so soon. Especially CAN NOT BELIEVE I HAVE NOT CHEATED ONCE!
  15. Lionbird, I feel your pain. I did buy frozen easy to make things, I to am on day 3 and last night I made frozen chicken nuggets and tater tots. I never in my life wanted tator tots so badly! Terry, I love the mint idea. That would probably help as I am salivating over the food. Thanks.
  16. Surgery March 1...day 3 of 3 shakes a day and water, I keep telling myself it's going to get better! I swear I never noticed the number of food commercials until 2 days ago. rz1227, you don't know how lucky you are for some fruits and salad...what I would give for a salad. LOL
  17. Ok ladies and gentleman, day 2 on these shakes is not so fun. I breezed through yesterday not hungry at all and I woke up this morning starving. Had a shake at 6am and some chicken broth at 8am and I am still hungry! I knew it was to good to be true. And I am aware that this is only the beginning and am thankful I am doing the shakes because I will be grateful when I am on clear liquids for 2 weeks. Just venting.
  18. Congrats! I can't wait for the first day of the rest of my life. Good luck.
  19. I started my liquid diet this morning, my doctor sells the Chike meal replacement shakes and the list of additional things are: coffee (no cream), un sweet tea, beef, chicken & veggie broth. The meal replacement shakes are working better than I thought. I expected to be soooooo hungry today and I have not been hungry at all.
  20. Starting my shakes tonight for March 1 surgery...wish me luck :-)
  21. I have been out of control with my last supper diet...steak, lobster, fair food, mexican, italian, burgers...so I go to the doctor today thinking I am going to be in trouble for gaining after eating everything in sight and I lost 3 pounds! Lol.
  22. Got my shakes today and plan to start with tonights dinner. I don't know if any of you felt this way but I have always been a little afraid that this surgery was never going to happen and after receiving my shakes, surgery date and pre op date & time it is as if it is true!!! I am very excited. Yay!
  23. Hi Jen, I do not start my liquids until next Tuesday and have very mixed feelings...excited because I know whats to come and glad I get a chance at a dry run before the actual surgery. But also worried...obviously i like food Good luck tomorrow, you will have to keep me posted. I hope you are having a nice Valentines dinner tonight. And I love your quote about nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. I don't know but I am looking forward to it..
  24. Leslie, good luck with this. I have been in medical administration for 15 years and in my experience any physician wont touch you with a ten foot pole. They have to worry that if the doc in Denver did anything wrong or if you have any issues they then would be accepting liability for something the Denver doctor may or may not have done. I've seen this happen with many different situations. What that nurse said was unacceptable but she may not even know the true reason. All that being said I do not have a solution for you. Please be careful because as you continue your search I would hate to see you end up with a less qualified physician. Good luck. :-)
  25. Hello to all, I just joined today, I am being banded on March 1st with Dr. Grossbard and start my shakes next week. I am living in Plant City and will be having my procedure at Memorial in Tampa. I am actually looking forward to the couple weeks of shakes before surgery to prepare me for whats to come. I don't have a whole lot of questions just glad to meet people on the same journey.
