  1. That should read have not regarding the gas pain
  2. I was banded this morning and was pleasantly surprised that I have had any gas pain, just some soreness & discomfort around the port incision. I have been able to drink fluid w/o any nausea but I have not been able to urinate once. When they discharged me they said if I still had not gone after 12 hrs to give them a call. It was already such a long day, I'll follow their instructions but I really don't want to drive back to have a catheter inserted, I don't have temp or any other abnormal reactions,,,,,,any thiughts?
  3. Thanks for the words of encouragement, I haven't been able to slow my mind down all day.
  4. Decision has been made, tomorrow is the big day....
  5. Congratulations Jen, my surgery is tomorrow morning & I can relate to the anxiety! I doubt I will get much sleep tonight.
  6. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday, I've lost 27lbs pre-op & even though I have lost before only to regain I'm getting nervous & wondering if I could continue to lose on my own. I'm not worried about the life style changes, I've already made so many but rather the pain and possibility of complications.
  7. Thanks everyone for your replies, there is such a abundance of information on this site & bless all of you who are so willing to share. I go tomorrow for PAT & my endoscopy, f/u appt on Monday & the surgery is just a week away. Like most people I'm both excited & nervous. Down 21lbs since this all started & made so many changes already but still concerned with the not drinking w/meals & my low pain tolerance but hoping to say it wasn't as bad as I thought in the near future.
  8. I am scheduled for surgery February 7th & I have 2 questions - I keep reading all the comments regarding the gas pain after the surgery, has anyone ever had their gall bladder removed where they fill your abdomen up with the CO2, if so how does that pain rate in comparison? Next, I feel the hardest thing for me is going to be not drinking w/meals, has anyone else struggled w/this that you could share some advise on? I have done all the research & understand why but doesn't your mouth get awfully dry? Thanks.
