  1. Maggie, I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one in this position! I too had Lap Band surgery at the end of November and had one fill so far and I'm not feeling the restriction either! I lost 20 lbs pre op and only 6 post op but have gained 3 of that back! So still no weight loss really since the procedure. My next fill is on Wed Feb 20th, so I'm hoping I'll see (feel) some restriction after that. I don't know how long it takes to get the ball rolling but I've been getting discouraged and depressed. I'm looking for answers as well! Anybody???????
  2. Banded121512....when I went in for my first fill on Jan 16, 2013, the nurse practionier told me that the stomach with the band, in the morning, is like your fingers with a ring on in the morning.....swollen from laying flat all night and band is a bit tight just like your fingers feel tight with a ring on. You have to be up for a bit for the swelling to go down and then you should be able to eat w/o a problem. I'm still not having much restriction and am able to eat anything anytime! I really have to force my will power! I was hoping the band would help me more but it hasn't yet. I'm hoping my next fill in Feb (20th) will help so I can start losing.
  3. Windfury..... I see you had your surgery about 2 weeks after I had my surgery! I have not been as successful as you have been, though I did lose about 20 lbs pre-op, but only 9 post op! I see you've lost 26 lbs already...do you know how many cc's you have in your band? have you gone in for your first fill yet? I'm assuming you have the larger band that holds about 10 cc's as I think that's the only one they are using now. Any helpful hints on how you're making it work so quick for you would be appreciated. Thanks!
  4. That's wonderful for you! I'm 8 weeks post op and still waiting for that restriction feeling. I'm only down 9 lbs from the day of surgery (Nov 29, 2012)...but I did lose 20 lbs. pre-op so I don't know if I'm expecting too much or not! I've even had one fill on Jan 16th! My next fill isn't until Feb 20th! I think in my best interest to wait it out and not rush the fills according to several posts on the www. obesity help . com forums.

  6. I went for my first fill a week ago.....there was only 1 cc in band from surgery date of 11/29/2012 and they added only 2 cc's last week. So with only 3 cc's I'm not feeling much restriction at all. Are you feeling it at 7cc's? Thus I'm not seeing any weight loss yet either.....
