  1. Band day Buddies! I know I am still swollen, I can feel it. I am def not discouraged. just wanted some feedback. I am excited for my new life. I was lucky, I thought I was going to have my TOM on my surgery date, but luckily, I skipped last month. This happens occasionally now as I am almost 50 years old. Good luck! Keep me posted on your progress!
  2. That is pretty much what I thought, just wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat. My Dr seems to think I am going to do well. He doesn't want me walking yet though until after 2 weeks. Good luck and Congrats on your weight loss. It feels good to buy a smaller size!
  3. Anyone else not lose much weight right after having the Lap band surgery? I am just now feeling like doing anything, the pain isn't bad anymore, but I weighed myself today and I have gained a pound since my Post op appointment on Thursday. The Doctor said I was doing well and to continue on liquid diet for another week. I don't have a problem with this, but I think my body is used to me eating almost nothing because I wasn't hungry at all the first 3 days after surgery, and now I am having about 600 to 900 calories a day. I know that until my first fill in 5 weeks I will start feeling more hunger, but I thought i would continue to lose weight.
  4. Congratulations on your weight loss. I just got home from my post op appointment. Dr. Bunch doesn't fill when you get the lap band. I haven't been hungry at all. He says that it is because of the swelling, that in another couple of weeks I will probably want to eat my arm. His words not mine. I go in for my 1st fill in 5 weeks, and will follow every 2 weeks until I find my sweet spot.
  5. I was banded yesterday morning at Blake Medical Center. I work there so it was the only option I had, My insurance covered the hospital 100% It was a great experience. My stomach feels like I was doing pushups all night, but other than that I am doing well. Just lying around and reading
  6. I'm in Bradenton. I was banded yesterday by Dr. Gary bunch. I have yet to go to a support meeting, well I did go to one at the Dr office. but I was the only one who showed up . They haven't had any support group meetings since the October one I went to.
  7. I did. I am not ashamed of having this procedure. I work in the hospital emergency room and I know of 3 people that have had lapbands. I found out that my Boss had Gastric Bypass 3 years ago and I never would have guessed, except by her eating habits I kind of suspected.
  8. I had mine done yesterday too. I slept well in my bed. Having some pain, but I am going to continue with the Lortab at least for today. No gas pains here either.
  9. 1 day postop and doing well. Only pain is surgery site. I have liquid Lortab for pain, and I was able to sleep comfortably in my bed last night.
  10. I'm starting my Pre op diet tomorrow. Any suggestions? Also, anyone know how long I have to stay away from the gym. Just joined Shapes and I am loving it.
  11. I'm scheduled April 3rd. I had to reschedule my Feb 25 date because of short staffing at work. (I work in the ER in a Hospital). I'm preparing for my Pre-op diet. I'm really excited, but a little nervous too.
  12. I scheduled my surgery for February 27th.
  13. I finally got my Authorization for surgery from my insurance company. I have been eating everything in sight because I feel like I won't be eating it again! I'm a little nervous about the pre op diet. What if I get hungry? Do I just have another Protein shake? I'm going to call the Doctor's office on Monday, and hopefully schedule the procedure for early February. I'm excited but very nervous! I wan't to be thin! Any Advice or suggestions to help with the pre op and post op diet?
