  1. I also suffer from PCOS....I was diagnosed at 17....I am still preop and hoping for the best with getting the sleeve. My husband and I want to have children but of course with PCOS that has been impossible. Oh, the issue with hair on the face is horrible for me.....it has gotten worse. I did however, have my first period in a year in December (i can count on it to come once a year in December). I am glad to see that the VSG could help with some of the issues.
  2. Yes, if you go to www.tricare.com it will tell you what is covered. But like she said it is only covered my certain training facilities......
  3. I started in Oct.....when you go to your first meeting (if it is at Bethesda/Walter Reed) they will tell you everything and go through all the surgeries and all of those goodies. Our head guy told us to give him a week and he started putting referrals in for us.....so it was pretty easy with all of the medical stuff needed. the problem i run into is having the support group meetings (2)...its hard to get to. you can actually call yourself and set up your appts on your own ( of course that is what i did...lol) so now I am at the end of doing everything.....so three months to be exact on Jan. 23.......hoping for surgery in Feb....
  4. I was wondering are there any military spouse who has gotten the VSG at Bethesda/Walter Reed. I would love to know your experience and the process. Thank you
  5. I hope to get banded in February. Congrats on your date. I still have to do my two support group meetings and my last meeting with my nutritionist on Jan 15. Did anyone have to lose 10 pounds before surgery? If so, what are some things you did to lose the weight?
  6. Welcome, i also suffer from PCOS but I don't have any children yet. that is part of the reason why i am having the lapband and the other is for my health which is most important. I have just starting to lose weight....i just out all the pasta, white rice, and most breads out of my diet....i went totally cold turkey....i also watch my sugar intake no more that 5 grams....but good luck to you and welcome again
  7. The reason for the two week preop liquid diet is to shrink your liver before the surgery
  8. I havent been banded yet. Still doing paperwork. Excited about getting banded and beginning this lifestyle change. ...I have actually already begun
  9. I am still doing preop paperwork but just getting prepared for the liquid diet. What are some things you all used to get through it. Also I have yet to find a yogurt that u like....I have tried Fage, organic, and it is nasty....the texture is nasty in my mouth.....help please
