4 days post-op
The first two days post-op I felt very minimal pain, but the pain got really bad my 3rd day post op where I couldn't even stand and just cried because my port area, under my ribs and mid back were hurting so bad. Today is now day 4, and I can still only get Water down. I tried eating Soup broth but after I felt so horrible. My back and shoulder felt as if I was being stabbed and my stomach felt as if it was just closing in on itself, mainly felt like my muscles were really tense. I'm assuming it was because I tried filling my stomach with soup and the gas was getting pushed around. Has this happened to anyone else? I've taken milk of magnesia, which helped get things going and also started taking gas x strips which are saving my life and I'm not having as much pain, but I can still fill the gas inside my stomach because it literally feels like the bubbles are moving around in there. Since my stomach has been empty when it growls if feels and sounds hollow inside. I can't wait till the gas goes away and takes all it's bloating with it!

Liquid Multi Vitamins
So, I have tried several different liquid multi vitamins all of which make me gag because they taste so horrible. Does anyone have any recommendations on a decent liquid multi?

You have to try these
They have them at wal-Mart in the frozen section. They are a powder that you can mix milk or soy milk into, shake it and its ready to drink.

What happens when you don't get enough protein everyday?
Protein is essential to losing weight, so if your not getting enough protein it will be harder for you to drop pounds. Lack of protein can also cause your hair to thin and fall out. If your having a hard time getting in protein, the one thing I have found I can keep down post-op is "egg drop soup" lots of protein with chicken broth and egg! I can only have about 1/2 cup at a time though.

2 days post-op
Nancy, she found my port and stuck a needle in it as if she was doing a fill, but instead she pulled air out. I immediately felt relief!

2 days post-op
- Tomorrow is the big day!
I'm on day 2 and i would suggest water, multi vitamin(liquid) ice pack for your tummy, heating pad for your back. Milk of magnesium and gas x mouth strips, pain medicine and lots of movies! I also suggest lots of pillows to prop yourself up, cause laying down hurts bad...- 2 days post-op
I'm on day post-op. today is worse than yesterday. I'm having bad back and stomach pain. I went in today for my day after surgery check up. Everything was fine except I still have 6 fist size gas bubbles that are creating a lot of pain. I was advised to take milk of magnesia and gas x to try and get rid of some gas in my tummy. The nurse also relieved some tension from my port && I felt good for about an hour but every time I sit it still hurts to get up- Finall Banded!
I got banded today! After reading a lot of people's threads about post op pain from gas, I'm happy to say that I have very minimal pain, just a minor back ache and bloating. I do have to say that I'm glad I followed all the rules so that things continue to go smooth! Today is the first day of a brand new future body and life! So happy!! !- All of these stories... Scared me!!
I just got banded today, before I kept reading others people's expierence a and was super scared, but in all honesty it's not as bad as some people make it sound, my pain is very minimal, mainly just minor back pain, but lap band is well worth it!- Today was the big day!!!
Thank you so much!- Today was the big day!!!
I just got home from the hospital! I'm officially banded. I'm very lucky that my pain is very minimal. My back and port site is the only thing aching. I don't want to sit down, I find standing up and stretching my arms up in the air relieves so much pressure. I tried using the heating pad, but it started making the pain worse, once I took of the heating pad I felt so much better. It looks like my cure is cold packs not heat. Still super dehydrated though.- Approved!
Finally, my insurance approved my surgery! Pre-Op diet starts Wednesday December 5, 2012 and surgery date is schedules December 17, 2012. Im very excited, but also super nervous and maybe just a little scared. Im not scared or nervous for the surgery. I know this will all go very good, but i'm afraid once I start losing weight that I am not going to know what to with myself. Will I even know how to act as my body changes? My starting weight when I made the decision to look in to lap band was 240lbs, the most I have ever been in my life. I am 25 years old and finally realized I was tired of living my life the way I was. After the month diet for insurance purposes I lost 20 lbs and now weigh 216 lbs. I am hoping i lose the 16lbs during the pre-op diet so i am that much closer to my goal weight 135. I can't wait!- December Bandwagon Supporters
Finally my insurance approved me! I will be getting banded December 17th! What a great way to start the new year! - Tomorrow is the big day!
