  1. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I recently submitted my paperwork to my insurance company and I am waiting to hear back from them. I am definitely worried about the potential hair loss but I figure I could weave it up or get twists. I am more focused on my weight loss for now and will deal with the hair issue (if there is any) down the road.
  2. My paperwork was submitted today to my insurance company. I have Affinity Health Plan Medicaid. I am hoping for a speedy approval. I have a BMI of 47 and high cholesterol along with joint pain and I am hoping to hear back soon. Wish me luck everyone!
  3. Thank you so much. My paperwork was submitted to my insurance company today so I am waiting to hear a response back from them. I am nervous and excited. I can't believe that I am this close. It's a little nerve-racking.
  4. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I am a 26 year old student from NYC. I am currently 5'3", 260lbs. I have been overweight for most of my life. I have tried all types of diets and was able to lose weight but I was never able to keep it off. After doing some research, I decided that weight loss surgery was the best option for me. I went for my initial consultation with Dr. Yatco at Lenox Hill Hospital on January 31st. We decided together that the gastric sleeve would be the best option for me. Now I am just dealing with all the requirements for my insurance (and there are a lot). I am hoping to schedule my surgery for late May, early June. My doctor recommended this forum as way to gain a support system since I do not have much support at home. I am nervous about getting surgery but I know that it is the right decision for me and my health.
