  1. This is so inspirational. I am being sleeved 3/25/13 and starting at 347. I have some physical problems with my back, hip and knees that will make it very hard to exercise. On top of that, I am 58 and don't have that "young" metabolisim. I look at you realize that is why I am doing this. To try to get my life back again.
  2. Hi Texastrish! I am finally scheduled for the 25th. I was originally scheduled for the 11th, but have has severe asthma problems which has delayed it. I was on high protein/low carb diet for 5 days, now on clear liquids for the 2 days prior to surgery. I hate it, am feeling weak, but can't give up now.
  3. I have been noticing that there is a wide variation in the requirements for pre-op diets from different docs. Mine just says high protein no carbs for 5 days and then clear liquids for 2. I don't know if I would be able to do a 2 month high protein no carb diet.
  4. Hi BigJoe Daddy, thanks for doing the list. My doc has rescheduled me from the 11th to the 18th. Can you change it on the list for me?
  5. I am scheduled for my sleeve on the 11th. I woke up yesterday morning with congestion and a lot of coughing. I got worried about not being well by my surgery date. My doctor requires 5 days of high protein/low carb diet and then 2 days clear liquids. I have already done 1 day of my protein diet and the doctor's office calls me and wants to change my date till the 18th. I guess it will give me time to get over this cold, but I was ready and now the delay has made me a little depressed. I prayed that if God does not want me to do this, then he will stop it. Is this God stopping it? I really want and need to lose weight desperately.
  6. Hi Crystal, I am in Alabama and will be sleeved on March 11th by Dr. Andrew DeWitt in Birmingham at Princeton Baptist Hospital.
  7. I feel exactly the same way. I start my pre-op diet on Monday and already I am so dreading the feeling that I know will come from it. It will be so hard. I really want to succeed, but I know it will be a struggle for me.
  8. My surgery is scheduled for March 11th. I have been told by numerous doctors the past few years that this surgery would save my life and I am ready. I am scared, but ready. I broke my back and had surgery, broke my hip and had it replaced, now both knees need to be replaced but the surgeon will not do it until I can lose a significant amount of weight. I have pain from my back, hips and knees all the time. I am so tired of living in such pain. One leg is longer that the other now by over an inch from my hip replacement. It makes it very difficult to walk. I have severe sleep apnea, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It is not much of a life, but I am hoping and praying that this surgery can turn things around for me. I, like many of you, do not care so much about the outward appearance, but am praying for a return to good health. This is such a good place to share with others that know exactly how I am feeling.
  9. I am scheduled for March 11th. I am scared and very hopeful that this will be the turning point in my life. I am so tired of the weight and all of the challenges and problems associated with the weight. I am looking at it as a must do!
