Just had my first mushy meal!! Puréd chicken, Puréd veg, and Puréd potato. About half a cup in total, and I am so stuffed!!!

That is really nice of them! Must have put a smile in your face.

Oh they will drop. Currently I lose about 1lbs every 2nd day. And on the other days nothing. But it's still down, so that's all hat matters.

Took my dressings off yesterday, and the little slits(key holes) are all closed up an healing nicely. My surgeon did an amazing job. Ppl cannot believe how small the holes are and that they did all that work through them. I am happy with everything, and being almost 21lbs down yesterday since pre-op diet, I feel amazing. And it really does get better every day.

You need to find one you like and fast, cause you gonna be having them for awhile after surgery too.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm 5days out and have like zero sensation for food! What's up with that? I knew my appetite was supposed to be very minimal but not at all?? I do find I am pretty weak from the very low energy consumption. I see my surgeon at 3pm on Tues, so will have a chat to him. Does anyone have any numbness in random spots? I have a strip on my right upper arm that's numb. And a spot or too on my tummy near the incisions. .

Lost 8lbs so far since surgery day. It seems to be slowing down at the moment, but I'm not to worried. I'm only on day 5. My physical activity will pick up in the coming days and will be able to lose more. Best of luck to all the peeps having surgery on Monday. I have been so lucky to not experience any pain, so I wish you all a similar experience.

Surgery is done and dusted. Now to live it up on the losers bench.

Well it's checkout time and so glad to be going home. Been pain free since yesterday. And it's been wonderful, for a major op, very little pain. Just that gas!! Doc is sending me home with some meds, just in case. Now to join the march post op thread.

Brushing your teeth etc is not why the burp smells, it smells because of the gasses that are produced in your stomach. Just hang in there when you diet / food intake changes it should get better.

Feeling stronger and stronger every day. I should be going home in a few hours, just cannot wait.

Well just had my x-rays, had to go have more done, and all is good so I am on my fluids. 65ml per hour. Tomorrow it will go up to 90ml.

I'm on the losers bench!! Just got out of ICU, been walking about, gas is a problem. But got my wife by my side for most of the time.

Well it's 3am on the 12th March, my surgery day. Got about 7hrs to go until I'm put under.not sure exact time. I just wanna sleep a bit more. They have me on a fast, no water no food since midnight.

Well I have taken my before pics. Not to confident yet to plop them on here, but when I'm losing I'll definitely have more confidence to post. Just over 2hrs40min to go till my admission. Good luck to everyone else.

For all those post opers, I just want to know if you felt anything during the surgery! Or where you completely out?

Well end of pre-op diet day 1, tomorrow brings a whole set of new challenges. But I will get through them one day at a time. 8 sleeps till surgery. Good luck to all those having there op today.
