1. if you're not losing weight but losing inches, then you're building muscle and losing weight simultaneously, at least that's what it sounds like. 1lb of fat=1lb of muscle but muscle takes up less space. if you're more concerned about dropping weight try doing less weight lifting and do more cardio
2. I'm a size 20 and have size 13 juniors in my closet. I know the feeling
3. My family got take out and although I didn't eat the chinese food, I gave my dogs the fortune cookie as a treat. Look at my fortune. It's fate
4. I'm bcbs in md for state workers and I had 6 month period as well
5. Watch with some protein powders, they can be loaded with carbs and unnecessary sugar. I've been using (although pricey) unjury powders and so far I like them. Chocolate is probably my favorite. I also have an unflavored one that I add to jello and pudding and some drinks. I don't know how I would get hit that protein mark without them. My doc has me on a progressive diet, clear liquid to full liquid (I'm on now) to puree to soft to solids Banded 12-7-12
6. Thank you guys! Gas pains are better. Only bad when i lay flat. Sleeping in a recliner has worked fine.
7. The incisions didn't hurt at all, I've had cramps worse than that but the gas pain is unbearable. 2 of my incisions were almost in my belly button so sitting down is uncomfortable right now. I've been on my feet most of the day walking and waving my arms and no gas relief (even tried gasX and heating pad). My shoulders simultaneously hurt and it feels like a ton of bricks on my chest. I can't lay down so sleeping is out of the question. I'm just horrible right now. the pain medicine is hardly doing anything. I just hope it gets better soon, i don't manage well with lack of sleep. i know it will all be worth it... Just gotta keep reminding myself that
8. Mine is 48 hours clear liquids, 1 week full liquids, 1 week puree, 1 week soft then solids.
9. I've read sooo much on lapband, somehow I overlooked that. Wow thanks
10. My doctor added saline during the procedure (not that I'm complaining) I didn't think they did that. Anybody have saline added during the surgery?
11. Out of surgery, everything went well, my doc said he even filled it a bit. Very minimal pain. The gas pain hurt the most but faded fast. I have been walking around the hospital and going to be walking out the door very soon :-)
12. Well I'm sitting here with an IV in my arm. T-minus 40 minutes until surgery. Excited and nervous
13. If you can tell a difference in your body but not on the scale, you're probably losing fat AND building muscle simultaneously. Good luck! Don't get discouraged!
14. December 7th! I'm getting nervous.
15. So I'm interested about excess skin with the younger banders. I know people lose elasticity in skin over the years. We are young and (fingers crossed) maybe excess skin won't be so bad. Any input, any personal stories? I know everyone is different and such, just curious.
16. I JUST got off the phone to set my date in stone. December 7th! I'm so excited!
