  2. Oh, the other thing I do is no solids in the morning. Only liquids. And when I'm tight I drink hot liquids to help loosen it.
  3. I'm on the same rollercoaster! Not that it's any fun. I am also self pay. I had an unfill in June and then gained 48 pounds. So my doctor told me to do the pre-op diet for 2 weeks. I ended up going longer. It jump started my system to lose again. Protein shake for breakfast, protein shake for lunch, 3oz lean meat with 1 cup green veggies and 1 cup fruit for dinner. No banana, starch veggies and low carbs. Totally worked! I'm back to smaller portions and losing again. Give it a try.
  4. You have to pay attention though. My tell is hiccups. Then I know I'm done! The roof of my mouth gets wrinkled when I'm stuck too.
  5. Thanks all for the replies so far. I guess I just get frustrated when the family wants to go out and I can't find anything. I've been banded for 3 years now too. Just depends on the day for me if lettuce will go down. Sometimes it's too fiberous. I have been places where I tried to order smaller portions and my husband has even offered to pay adult price for it. We just didn't want to waste food.

  7. Could be... I've made all sorts of special requests (like ordering the "add on" portions of shrimp or whatever) instead of a full meal... Or half portion... And haven't had any trouble even without the card. I typically don't want what's on the kid menu, so that's something I haven't tried. It's typically fried or carb heavy. I think it may also depend on if you are eating at a chain that has specific rules or an independent restaurant. I do order kids meals at a couple of fast food places--chick fil a and their grilled nuggets Come to mind--and haven't been questioned at all. Totally agree on the kids menu being fatty. And I do the add-on item thing too now...usually because I want to try everything lol. I'm sure it will be a completely different story once I'm sleeved. I've seen some middle to higher priced menus with the printed msg on it saying it's not allowed but like you said, it seems that there are other ways around it. Everywhere has "under 12 or 10 only" on the menu, but that doesn't stop me from trying. Maybe until I get a card I'll order half portions!

Agreed, some kids menu items I don't want in which case I would get Soup. But a lot of places now have healthy kids options too. Or heck even to be able to order off the senior menu.
  9. I would normally do that but there are many places I go where I can't take leftovers with me. For example, Vegas. I'll be going there again in February and won't be able to take leftovers. Or when we went to Disney my husband would have liked to pay kids price for some of the special dining events we did.

  12. I was worried mine slipped. So they did a scan and saw it was fine just tight. So they took out a full cc. That's when I became too loose and could eat bread again. I got in trouble. So recently I had fluid put back in, full cc, and again 0.125 cc. I'm good now. Good restriction but needed the pre-op diet to jump start my metabolism. Talk to your dr though. There's a fine grey line between red zone, green zone and yellow. My dr also said I shouldn't be eating bites bigger than my ring finger nail.
  13. Thanks! Where did you gals have your surgeries through? Mine was through True Results. I'm wondering if maybe I missed something.

  15. I had fluid removed due to swelling from being sick. I gained a lot back and my doctor put me in the pre-op diet for 3 weeks to jump start me. It helped a lot!
  16. Thanks. I'll have to ask my dr. I wasn't give. A card or anything.
  17. Has anyone been able to get medical documentation to allow them to order off of the kids menu or senior menu for smaller portions? I have tried to order places and have been refused and told I have to order full meals. My husband explains that most of the food would go to waste.

  20. 2muchfun I've had a full cc taken out and still needed liquid. Then I gained weight so I had it put back in. I've been doing Greek yogurt, but I typically eat in the car in the way to work. I think this needs to change.
  21. Hey all, so I've been using GNC total lean 25 protein shakes since my surgery 2 years ago. Typically this is my breakfast as my band is tighter in the morning. Lately I've noticed I have had more migraine headaches. I believe it may be connected to my protein shakes. I'm wondering a couple of things, 1) anyone else experience this? 2) what are some natural alternatives? I want to shift to eating more all natural, whole foods with less chemicals I can't pronounce. Thanks in advance for your help. Kate
