  1. Congratulations on your approval. I'm super excited! I have been running around in efforts to get all of the needed items (Vitamins, Water, gas x strips and etc.)! I ordered the Hip Hop Abs DVD set and I must say its a great workout! There's so much to do and so little time to do it in. Best of luck to you on your journey!
  2. @Alisha510 I would love to keep in touch! I'm from Mississippi, where are you from? It's kind of embarrassing but here are my stats!!!! CW: 258 GW: 145 ( I just want to wear a size 8/10) Height: 5' 1" ****I gotta maintain these dangerous curves...lol!
  3. My surgery date is April 9th. I'm a South Mississippi Sleever!
  4. It is true about the variation in info. Just keep calling until you hear you're approved!
  5. I'm so excited to announce that my date is April 9th. I had a setback after my Upper GI, so I had to have an EGD! The EGD was successful hence my new surgery date! My best friend will be getting sleeved on April 11th. I'm. so glad we decided to begin this journey together. It's so much easier when you have someone who can relate to what you're going through! This site has been a tremendous help! I give my warmest regards to all my fellow sleevers!
  6. I had 3 months from other weight loss programs. I completed 90 consecutive days with SMSWLC/ Dr. Avara. I don't think that weight watchers will qualify. I like Dr. Avara because he's easy to approach and down to earth.
  7. Dr. Eicke is the cheapest psychologist ($300.00) and he will be prompt with completing your psych! He is listed in the binder they give you at SMSWLC.
  8. I hope that your pre-certification is processed quickly!
  9. NewLife75 congratulations on your approval! You are already such a handsome young man! I'm sue this will be a success and a life changer for you!
  10. What insurance company do you have?
  11. They don't have an answer or they don't have your paperwork? If they don't have your clinical information and your coordinator supposedly submitted it...then you need to give the coordinator a call!!!!
  12. Congratulations to you on your approval!!!'
  13. The stats on VST show that BCBS is very expedient about approving pre-certifications! The process will flow smoothly! Call them tomorrow to confirm receipt of your clinical documentation.
  14. Thanks for the support. I started my process in October as well. I pray that all goes well!
  15. I'm worried about the outcome!!!!!!!!! I've gone through so much to have this procedure and I would be gravely disappointed if I couldn't proceed with the surgery!!!!!!????????????
  16. Yes the symptoms of indigestion but the upper GI revealed that I don't have indigestion, a stricture or a hiatal hernia . It was the spasms that was causing my reactions to food. When I eat, I get a frog in my throat and I have to cough. I would get sick in the stomach hours after eating, to the point that ginger ale was my best friend. I spoke with a nurse who has said that the sleeve will actually help my issues with spasms. I will see my doctor on Monday, so I will keep you posted.
  17. I was recently approved for surgery on April 2, 2013. I completed me pre-op testing which included an upper GI. The upper GI revealed transient pylorospasm. To sum this up it means that your stomach cannot empty as designed, due to a thickened valve. This causes abdominal pain and vomiting. I'm freaking out because I was amped to have my surgery on April 2 but instead I will be getting scoped! I pray that this pylorospasm is mild and surgery will occur ASAP. ****Thanks in advance for your support.
  18. My deepest expressions of care and concern go out to the family!
  19. Imdeborah thanks so much for your prompt reply. What they found on my Upper GI is called a pylorospasm. It has been explained that the valve in your stomach does not allow for the food, to easily pass to the small intestine. Instead the food is pushed back up until your stomach, causing abdominal pain or vomiting. Many children are diagnosed with this at birth. I will be having an endoscopy to diagnose the severity! I so hope it's not that bad!!!!
  20. IKR!!! The doctor would say "take another sip" and I would sip it from the straw, hold it in my mouth then swallow! I don't know what's worst giving blood or drinking barium sulfate!!!!
  21. Yes VivaDiva the doctor only required me to drink as prompted! If I had to consume a big amount at one time, lets just say that the upper GI would have been over!
  22. The Barium Sulfate was pretty yucky but not as bad as I thought it was going 2 be! I guess it helped that I only took a sip when instructed!!!
