  1. I'll still collect on that promise of a hug, though.
  2. Halfway there! Much better than I have been doing.
  3. Oops...the bear comes out of hibernation. :guess Such a sweet little teddy bear! I suppose I knew, deep down in my saggy belly, that I wasn't supposed to eat the cinnamon bars. And I knew by the way my chin wobbles that I shouldn't make any fudge for my poor Papa. And my jiggly thighs should have reminded me that the guys really don't need 2 of every kind of pie, even though they beg and resort to trickery. So I'll take full blame for the weight I gained. No lawsuit necessary. Sigh... but I am gonna blame the weatherman that I can't go walking because it's raining here.
  4. That was a very quick trip, Penni. It sounds like a very nice holiday for you with your family. Glad you are safely home. I know I am glad to be home and staying cozy inside.
  5. That's great, Michelle! Down you go again! Congratulations on a holiday loss.
  6. Now THAT cracks me up! :laugh I like your technique.
  7. Well, Betty, I always try to help! :laugh I have to blame it on one of the guys, though. Who was it gave me that recipe for cinnamon cookies or something??? It's so many goodies ago, I can't quite....wait....was it Greg?! Pre-band Greg? I just can't remember for sure. C'mon, fess up. And Betty, why didn't you gain weight if you are following such a shining example....hmmm...????
  8. Hi Diana, I missed your post. I am on the Cali side of the border, down in Eureka. I emailed a person who saw Dr. Mirande and liked him. She was trying to find someone closer to do follow-up, but said his follow-up with fills was good. I checked Dr. Tersigni when I was looking for a surgeon. He was pretty high-priced and had some requirements I didn't want to meet -- don't remember for sure, but maybe he wants to do all the pretesting there and I did mine through my personal doc. Have you made a choice, yet?
  9. Sweet story, Ryan. Thank you for sharing.
  10. I really need this, too, Paula. I keep trying, but failing to get enough Water in. I think just reporting about progress helps by making us accountable. I will drink my 2 bottles that have 64 oz. (32 each) and add that to my chai tea (bad stuff!) to get about 80. Thanks for the reminder and incentive!!
  11. That sounds so sweet, Penni! And you lost weight!! I got to talk to my 2 year old grandson on the phone. He went from not talking at all to rattling off full sentences. Well, I didn't want Greg or Darcy to feel bad, so I have a gain of 3 lbs. too. I am stubbornly leaving my signature line at 172, but that damn scale says 175 this morning. Of course, I could count that as a one pound loss, since I was 4 up last week. I'm sure it's NOT the pies I made, or the fudge or cookies. I know what it is. DH bought me my nice pedometer. After I opened it and started to open another package, he said, "That goes with you pedometer." Hmmm...it was a bag of Hershey's kisses. Gee! Now that's the bratty side. BUT ... I only ate about 6 of them. Now that's a real change! Here's a toast to a fresh start down our weight loss paths. I have so much hope for the future.
  12. So, pecan pie is okay! Good. I hate to admit it, but I ate 2 pieces of pecan pie this morning and one of lemon meringue for lunch. I don't suppose I walked that off??? I tried to get my kids to take the pies away, but they want them here waiting for them. Don't they realize by now that they will disappear mysteriously? Tomorrow is a new day, full of hope, with or without the battery in the scale.
  13. I've been on nice walks two days in a row now. My sweet husband gave me a nice pedometer for Christmas, then set it for me and took me for a walk. I hope I can get back on track now.
  14. What a great picture! I wish my kids would pose for a picture like that. You look wonderful, Leatha.
  15. I agree that the tree stays up until after New Year's Day. Might as well enjoy it and put off cleaning everything up.
  16. Lauri, I hope you have found some explanation for you troubles. I hope you have regained the use of your left side. I feel sooo bad for you. My thoughts are with you often. Please let us know how you are as soon as you feel up to it.
  17. Posted by Lauri on two different threads on 12/21: >>>>Ok I may be spastic and sppent the last few days in th hospital but when they weighed me- drum roll please,,...,.211 What is that 8 pounds. Eating hospital food, being pumped with med. and all don't exactly make you want to eat. Now , if I can just survive my moms cooking and not being able to walk. I am going to try to get her to feed me healthy but her home cooking is so good.<<<< >>>>I am at home with my mom in houston. The tests at the hospital all came back without any explaination of my symptoms. I have lost almost all use of my left hand, arm and leg. Mom is going to ttake me to a dr. here and see if we can get some answers.<<<<
  18. Thanks, Marie. My feet are freezing. Is that the snow you sent??? Have a lovely white Christmas!
  19. Well, I've got 4 pounds showing on the upside. BUT I have over a week after Christmas to get back on track. I KNOW I can do it!! Two more days of fudge and goodies and then I'll be VERY, VERY GOOD!!
  20. Congratulations! Glad everything went so well for you. On with the journey!!
  21. I'm heading out in a couple hours. I need a nice break from my kitchen. We're toting a ham, 4 pies, 2 batches of fudge, various Cookies, and a lasagna. My son is now 29 years old! Happy Merry Birthday Christmas at the grandparents' house. Y'all have a WONDERFUL Christmas. (I'm half Texan/Okie -- but don't tell the New Yorker half of me!)
  22. Have a wonderful time, Penni. You, too, Vera. I'm going to my parents' house for 2 days, not far, but away from my computer. I might pop in on my mom's beast. Everyone have a very nice couple days.
  23. Ha! You ARE from the 60s if you call yourself a "freak"! Or like Jack you think "funny brownies" are for the mushie stage. Isn't that the munchie stage?
  24. Gee, Lisa! That is some awesome picture! Blow that up bigger for me -- I'm old and can't see it so good. You look absolutely wonderful! Hope you are doing well.
  25. That's too funny! :laugh I love listening to Spanish, but also have a hard time with the speaking. I'll give it a go and then move on if I can't get it. Are you snowy out there?
