  1. I'm 12 days post op. I still have pain at my port when walking, sleeping, doing anything. However, I had severe pain up until day 9 of post op. I went back to work day 7 and it was terrible. At day 7 I could barley walk straight, still needed help getting off couches, ect. I was told everyone recovers differently. I was just one that took along time to heal!! Something I enjoyed was ice packs..it was the only way to help the pain in my stomache and back...also I took Tylenol every four hours!!
  2. How much choc and chips are you eating? Are you substituting this for meals?
  3. Ya, I definitely think people should listen to there surgeons....I started with a two week liquid diet on my own, my doc didn't have any requirements except for the day before surgery. His words were, don't gain any more weight and try to loose a few pounds the week before surgery to decrease fat around my stomache...he didn't mandate liquid fast. .. I did it because I researched so much online about it and found it odd my doc didn't seem to care too much aboutbme doing one. I worried about side effects of not doing a liquid diet. I think that's the only reason I gave in, because I knew I had wiggle worm to do so.
  4. Ooh, where I live there is a place called subway...it's where you buy subs that are fresh..I got a chicken one that was 12 inches each day...loaded with fresh veggies. It really filled me up and satisfied my hunger each day
  5. Not sure what you mean?
  6. I did two weeks liquid diet prior to surgery, however I was unable to do it, on day five I got soo hungry I gave in. I began eating one 12 " grinder from subway a day. I drank liquids all day and then around 6pm I ate a grinder. I did this up until four days before surgery in which I only drank protien shakes for the last four days. The whole idea is to shrink are liver. My doctor told me just to not gain weight and try to loose some because the fat would come off my stomache area first. I lost ten pounds doing it this way and my surgery went fine!! Good luck. I defiantly know how hard it is to liquid fast, trust me I cried the first five days!!
  7. Thats exactly how i felt, and i did even less than you. I am post 8 days today... Today I had 6oz of liquids all day....the most I got of liquids each day 1-8 has been maybe 8oz....I have been in pain all eight days. I feel gross and hate even drinking or anything. My oz came from Popsicles all week. I ate about 5 Popsicles a day and ate about half of each one before throwing away. today I went back to work, and it was terrible. I can't sit properly, driving my car was so bad, so painful. Hoping tomoorow I will feel much better.... I hope you feel better as well!!! Btw, I was told, the first week it's okay if I didn't get my protien in, important to just stay hydrated...this week I have to start with the protien...
  8. Wait, you can eat beans and cornbread already!!?? I'm day 8 post off and I'm still on liquids...I'm starving but can't go to mushys util day 19!!! I can't believe the difference in rules of food with diff docs!!!
  9. I'm six days post off. I wake up early...and get up about 5x a night....its terrible. I wake up with back aches because of the position I have to sleep in. I wake up and get ice packs for my back which helps to put me back to sleep. I'm a stomache sleeper. Anybody know howl long it takes to start sleeping on my back again ?
  10. They gave me jello day one in hospital right after surgery! .....
  11. I'm very sore..day five today. It hurts to do anything...I can't bend down, get off bed, or even lay comfortably. I have so much pain in my back, I think from how I'm walking and using back instead of stomache muscles to do everything.
  12. As far as chewable Vitamins I'm scared to eat..if we can't even have pudding for two weeks then I can't imagine swallowing a chewy Vitamin. I'm going to do liquids.
  13. Very hard....I'm day five and I've barley touched anything. I found that on day four i tried a freeze pop and loved it...so today I've had four freeze pops...it counts as are liquids so I'm just having one every time I think I'm feeling hungry or remember to get in fluids.
  14. Pain Meds don't give me much relief...I can't sit up by myself still...the pain in my stomache is almost unbearable...today is day four. Yesterday I had a Popsicle and I enjoyed it, however after eating it, I had intense pain for about fifteen mins after making it hard to breathe. Still waiting for the uncomfortable pain to subside.
  15. Thanks. Feel good to know it might just be normal. I definitely wasnt prepared for this much pain. Hope you feel better too!!!! This is day three, hoping by tomorrow it's much better!!
  16. Thank you!! I will start walking and take this gas x right now. Thanks, again!
  17. All my pain is in my stomache area....did anyone take gas x right after? Maybe it's gas? Also, did people have trouble going to the bathroom? Are we able to take something to help with bathroom?
  18. No. They didn't do X-rays or barium swallow....the doctor said my pain was normal. He said everything went fine! I've told them since right after surgery that I was in so much pain..I thought it would have subsided by now but it still feels exactly the same since the surgery.
  19. Good luck, ,let me know how yours goes. Mines has been so painful and terrible past three days. Curious how others feel right after!! I was banded October 29th.
  20. I had lap band surgery on the 29th, at 11am. Since the surgery,I have been in terrible pain. I can't sit down by myself, or get up. The pain Is so bad that no pain medicine makes it feel any better. I stayed overnight at the hospital and was on morphine and Percs all day and night. None of it helped. Today is day three, pain has not subsided, haven't been able to drink hardly anything because I just feel so sick and so much pain. I'm not able to sleep on my bed because I can't lay flat, can only sleep sitting half way up on my back. I can't get on couch because then its so painful getting pulled up off it when I need to get up. Has anyone experienced this? I'm so confused how so many people on here said lap band surgery was so easy and almost pain free. I read that people were up and about the next day. Am I the only one that is in so much pain three days post op!?? I was not prepared to be crippled like this!!!
  21. Hi. We have the same date and time! Good luck!!!!
