  1. your brave going back to work so early,,, i was told to stay away from work or physical activity for at least two weeks ummm i started to feel a bit more "normal" around 45 days out,, i was finding i was having more energy and just functioning normally,,, bit slow moving still and im ten days out,, my port incesion is a bit akward now cuz if i move the wrong way or cough it pulls and that hurts a bit, it didnt do that to start,, started around day 5,, but its normal because the port is stitched to our muscles,, the shoulder pain was the worst part of the first few days for me also,, i found panadol and heat packs work AWESOMELY tho i was scared to get weigh on my one week post op day cuz i felt really heavy and bloated,, but i had actually lost 5kg which was exciting,, i had my first coffee post on yesterday and i found cuz i havnt had sugar in my system for so long the coffee actually sent me a little hyper which was funny for my house mates apparently LOL but yea,, day 5,6 you should start feeling "normal" again,, just watch out for that port pain cuz it kinda snuck up on me OUCHY good luck
  2. sooo yesterday afternoon i ventured out of the house to go catch up with some family,,, i was a little nervous as i hadnt really hung out with any one other then my house mates since the surgury and they are used to my little after drinking and eating dances and faces lol well it actually went really well,, of course there were lots of questions and humour and support as my family are great that way, but there was a little akwardness when it came to stuff like offering me tea and coffee and what not,, but i guess thats to be expected cuz most people dont really know much about banding or how it works or what we can eat and stuff , but once we got past that it was all pretty normal and awesome,, it was a great feeling a lifted alot of fear from me about feeling out of place because of my eating restrictions, but it as quite easy to adjust,,, they decided on fish and chips for dinner so i just got one peace of crumbed fish and ate it slowly like we bandits have to and in the time it took me to eat my peace of fish they were all finishing their meals,, so it as alot less akward and such a relief i dont think they really even noticed how little i ate,, or maybe my family are just that awesome they just took it on board either way SUCCESS ,,, i even actually had half a glass of rum and coke,, naughty naughty i know but it was a bit of a reward for me,, but as i havnt been eating anything sugarly or fatty latly the sugar in that half a glass sent me a little hyper LOL,,,, which my family ( who all quit enjoy there alcohol) thought was quit funny,, i also noticed last night that my attitude and confidence has changed a little bit already ,, usually im shy and timid around my family , but last night i didnt have the usual feeling of not fitting in,, ive only lost 5 kg but the knowledge in the back of my head that i am making these changes and that i am GOING to do this ,, just that knowledge alone and the confidence and energy i get from having my band is boosting me so much and my family are noticing already,, so hopefully that lasts through out my journey,, i know it probably will waver here and there but again a perk of my family know and my close friends know is they can spur me on so yea great start to my second bandit week,,, tata for now
  3. thank you im usually one of those people that if something can go wrong it will,,so im crossing my fingers this is different :#
  4. wooohooo week one down,,, still feeling like this is all pretty daydreamish,, suppose massive change sometime can feel rather serial. this week wasnt as hard as I had imagined, i wasnt really hungry much, i did crave food a little bit but my fear of food getting stuck kinda over ruled that LOL. Im finding already i have lots more energy and determination to do this. Im struggling to find enuthsiasm about finding recipes and being overly organised about food and stuff,, which is something i will have to fix if im going to succeed at this,, which I AM GOING TO DO,, i started walking today it was actually really good I found it much easier even with the little amount of weight i have lots YESSS my port side incision is start to get hard and lumpy but apparently that is normal..... FREAK OUT !!!! oh and sneezing OUCHHIES ,,,, but it will heal and it will be worth it so yea all in all this week very little pain,, a bit of an emotional roller coaster but i expected that,, and still just adjusting will keep you posted during the week,, im very new at this whole keeping a blog this so hopefully i will get better as i go alone tata for now
  5. :/ a moth eeekkk,,, i go back to work in just over a week and i work in a domestic & comercial laundry so lifting hanging moving bending running around is all i do all day,,, eeekk
  6. ooo your being banded today ??? good luck
  7. phew i was freaking out that something was wrong,, im one week post op and my port incision is only starting to hurt now when i move to much or sneeze before it did but now it does is this normal,, its not like a OMG pain,, but like a pulling pain,, also how would i know if my band had slipped ?
  8. how will i know it my port is slipping ??? also the right side of my stomach for about a ten cm radius is really hard n my port incision id actually a healing firm with a lump :/
  9. yep found myself balling my eyes out about half an hour ago,, no real reason or idea why,, just today has been a **** day hungry and just sleepy and outta it,, but i just keep reminding myself that this is the road i chose cuz i dont want to be this large person any more,, so it WILL all be worth it in the end,,
  10. rightio so im 6 days post op and until now i havnt actually felt any real pain,, but i sneezed this morning and my god did my port side hurt,, i can actually feel it now,, also im just starting to get hungry now,, other then that going really good,, think i might start walking tomorrow,, EXCITED,, anywhooo figured id just give an update as no one else had posted yet

  13. hey,, have you heard of this c25k thing ??? im 6 days post op now and wondering when id be allowed to start it
  14. hmmm all excellent idea's,,, im 22 and live alone,, so maybe i could cook up some stews use the broth for my liquid diet and freeze the rest of my muchy stage awesome planning ahead i think
  15. how long after surgury till i can start ??
  16. you need to wait at least six weeks for anything more then walking,, cuz the port is actually stitched onto your tummy muscle,, so if you strain it too much before its full healed you could tare it,, sorry to sound so scary, but that what my doc said me to , i was banded on the 4th of oct also starting to get restless now cuz i have more energy then before good luck
  17. how much weight have you lost so far ?? how long till you csn physically see a difference
  18. 5 days post op, and im really craving meat,, nothing else just meat, any ideas how i can curb it ???
  19. hey, im 22 and 5 days post op the first three days were hell,, i was crying and pissed off and every one and so annoyed that i couldnt eat,, then yesterday i got up and had some energy m was so angry so i went for a walk,, the longer i walked, while it was a little uncomfortable, i started to notice i had more energy, and by the time i got home had a shower and my shake i had a nap and woke up feeling much better,, you just have to remember that this will all be positive,, this isnt the easy way out,, or the drastic option , but it is the best option for us, and it will work,, keep lookinh for other ppl's success stories, there is a girl on youtube, katie look her up her video's are amazingly helpful she talks about everything from the emotional ups n downs, to food and excerise and how her life is changing, good luck, keep yourself busy , i weight and measure myself everyday as i find it help me keep the long term goal in mind,
  20. hey bandsters,, im three days post of and just have sooo much energy and laying in bed and "recovering" was so boring and kinda making me depressed, so today i decided to do some gardening,, am i over doing it ?? im not feeling any pain or discomfort,, im not doing any magor lifting or bending obviously, just want to make sure im not doing any damage
  21. you shpuld measure in cm also cuz if youve started excercise it could be muscle gain rather then fat gain,,
  22. how is it im still passing "stool" even tho i havnt eatten anything other then one shake ?
