  1. Surgery tomorrow! So excited! Not really nervous but I cannot sleep ( maybe because my little girls are spending the night with my in- laws and aren't here). Any last words of advice?

  3. My surgery is May 7 too. I am so excited. Starving, but excited! My doctor has me on a pretty strict pre- op diet, but I want to do whatever I have to do to be compliant. I have been working on this approval for 8 months and the surgery day cannot get here fast enough. Good luck and I will be praying for u and me!
  4. Thanks for all the advice. I'll just try to get a good night's sleep tonight and get up with a new attitude tomorrow. I am an RN in a wound care center and I daily see what the effects of being overweight can be if left unchecked. I admit that I want this soooo badly because I would like to be thinner and have improved self-esteem, but I also don't want to start having all the complications that come with obesity. I already have PCOS, high b/p and achey joints. Don't want to add things to the list. Also have 4 year old twin daughters that I want to set a healthy example for!
  5. I got denied today! I am so down! I called the insurance company due to a letter I got in the mail saying the approval was pending. They denied me stating " lack of medical nessecity " and said I need to provide more documentation regarding support groups and exercise.plans tried. I had included info about gym memberships and weight watchers among info on many other diets and weight loss attempts. I have 45 days to appeal but I tell ya, the insurance company has just about stole my thunder by denying me.
  6. Thanks so much. I have BCBS of Ky and from what I have read on here BCBS seem to be pretty good about approvals. I am so glad I found this app! My new pastime is getting on here and reading all of this wonderful info. Y'all are great!
  7. I ha e a question for someone who has been through the approval process. My surgeon's office sent in my info last week on 10/04. I got up the courage to call the insurance office this morning and they said they received all the info and that it was up for review. When I got home today there was a letter from the ins. Company saying that they were lacking info. It was dated 10/04. Is this normal? Do u think they are lacking the info like the letter says or is this a formality? Or should I trust the ins. Rep I talked to this morning? Help! I am on pins and needles. I want this so bad!
  8. I met with my surgeon on 8/23/12, then had my psych eval on 8/24/12. Anyone with Anthem bcbs in ky who can tell me when my misery of waiting might be over?
